I was at a jeweler today looking at a 1 carat VS1 G color diamond which the jeweler says he can get EGL certification faxed in by tomorrow - off the top of his head he said the dimensions were 5.1 x 5.4

Another jeweler told me that by those numbers alone he could tell that the cut was too deep on the diamond I was looking at??? Is that possible?????????

If this totally confuses everyone I'll have more info from the cert tomorrow and can post

princess cut - forgot about that :)

You would want a 5.1 x 5.4mm princess to be about .80ct.
If you looked at a 1ct that spread through an ideal-scope it would be mostly white.

wow - guess i'll go with something else then - thanks for the help
