Hi all in PS!
Once again need your input. Long story short, Originally having BGD assist to custom cut a 0.85-0.89ct Black, and now Got offered by BGD a 0.934ct Signature H & A.

What do you guys think? Having the .934 ct or shall I keep waiting for custom cut?

Ideas Welcomed!

Can you provide specifics about both? I'm guessing price and size is probably close to a wash. It's probably a matter of time mostly?

Generally speaking, Black is BGD's most superior cut. The normal Signature H&A will be superb also, but I do feel the Black is special. Without knowing more information, or your exact situation, I would be inclined to wait for the Black myself.

Is there a price difference? Is there a difference in the color/clarity? If it ticks your budget/clarity/color boxes, I'd go for the .934 that is available. It'll be slightly bigger and it's ready now.

Being rush on creating this thread, apologies for missing so much essential information.
I have been looking for F/G VS, and the .93ct is G VS2 costing $7000, while the custom option would be approx. Maximum at $5900.
I do want to understand the difference between signature and black though.

Originally $7000 would be my budget with setting, and I need the ring in Nov. My wife's original stone is .75ct F VS2 (not a BGD one and not gonna sell it at the moment)

Is the .93 for $7k including a setting? Cuz if they know your maximum budget for a custom cut Black is $5900, why would they offer you this option?
Their signature ideals are considered "super ideals". Brian Gavin was one of the developers of the ACA line when he was at Whiteflash. So, yah they're cream of the crop.

Also G is not going to be any kind of yellow. I have a BGD I and a J as earrings and they're plenty white for an ering stone (in my opinion, anyway).

I communicated with them my budget for stone is $6000. And since unluckily no suitable rough which drops in my requested .85-.89c range has been found after about a month's time, but some options come in for below .8 c as well as at .9c range, therefore they wanted to chk with me if I would consider. It's very kind, and I appreciated.

So they’re offering you a slightly larger Signature H&A G/VS2 for the top of your budget but guaranteed a Black F/G VS2 would be $5900? I thought Black was higher than Signature. The size difference doesn’t seem enough to justify such a difference in price.

Pretty sure this is what they're offering as the alternate:

What about this one?

You do go from G VS2 down to H SI1 but this is part of the Blue series so it has medium fluor, which will help whiten the stone. My concern would be clouds is the grade setting marker, and the cert states "additional clouds not shown" which can be a bad sign. I'd talk with Lesley or Brian and make sure it's eye clean and there is no cloudiness or haziness, and to get a side by side evaluation of it against the 0.934ct stone.

Assuming it all checks out, I'd be tempted to go this route instead.

Some more information on the Black series (basically, it's a better cut than the signature):
And some more information on the Blue series should you decide to go that way:

Thanks for all your kind suggestions, I think I tend to the custom Black more considering the size increase is still rather small even I go for other series or in Color and clarity.

It gets more stressful when you get more options and come closer to decision. Thanks so much for your ideas~
