Hi! How is everyone?

DiamondSeeker2006 just had a thread comparing diamonds side to side by size...does anyone have anything comparing color? I have read you really need to see the stones in person, but just to get an idea....

Thank you!

Here you go. Bear in mind you can''t judge colour accurately on a computer monitor, but work through these pages and it may help!

Damn... just checking out that page really shows how icey the D is. I know it''s hard to spot the difference between close grades, but a D is quite something...

This is fab, thank you!

Can a J color stone sparkle just as much as a D color stone, let's say they are both ACA diamonds

Golden, if you''re trying to determine how color sensitive you might be, I''d suggest finding a fine jeweler locally (not the chains, but a fine jeweler) and go to see some stones in person. Pictures aren''t at all accurate is illustrating how different colors look because the camera picks up color far more readily than the human eye does.

I photographed a friend''s J stones and they looked SO much warmer in the pictures than they appear in real life. It really drove home how unreliable pictures are for judging color.

Definitely, thank you :)

Absolutely.

The sparkle of the stone - its light return, fire and scintillation are all down to the cut of the diamond. Well cut diamonds sparkle more, and are more beautiful under a range of lighting conditions than poorly cut stones.

The colour of the stone simply affects how much tint, or warmth you can notice in it. The colour is usually more noticeable from the sides.

A well cut J diamond will face up much whiter than a poorly cut one - so again, cut is reaaaally important. :)

I have an F ering diamond and recently bought a J colour pear-cut stone (only a little 0.33ct one!). The colour difference is noticeable if I put them side by side - but the J colour pear is still bright, sparkling & spectacular!

Maybe visit some top-end B&M stores and compare some AGS0 diamonds in different colours to see where your preference lies for diamond colour.

I agree with this; I would go check them out in person. Each person has a color preference so it is interesting to see what each person feels ,yanno.
