My ring will be fairly equally balanced between white and yellow gold. The prong will be white. The two stones I am considering are G versus H of the same clarity. The price differential between the two is significant. I am wondering if it is not worth buying the G diamond because the color will be degraded by the yellow gold. Or will the H one look too yellow? Any thoughts or recommendations? The stones 1.5+ carat cushions. Thanks.

Is it going to be a antique type cut cushion? If so an h will be just fine.
if its a crushed ice look i might stay at a g, that holds more color

If the prongs will be white then the G color should not be perceived as less white.

Thank you! It is a modified cushion brilliant. I believe that is the crushed ice look but have heard different answers about this based on which of 3 pattern cuts it is.
