Diamond Certification

Hello all,

This is my first post, hope you can advise me, I bought a diamond ring back in 2005 for my wife from a reputable high street shop.

But I recieved a receipt only and no Certificate so I would like to know in order to obtain a Certificate for my diamond ring what is the best course of action

Hey mate - to get a proper grading report/certificate on just the diamond, you'd have to get it unset (labs only grade loose diamonds) and sent to GIA or another reputable grading lab. But if you're looking for an appraisal/valuation on the ring & diamond as a made up item of jewellery, then you need an appraisal/valuation - - - you could contact the governing body for valuers in your area to find someone close (for example, here in Australia you could contact the National Council of Jewellery Valuers) - - or else post where you are located, and I'm sure someone on here can give you a few recommendations.
