Diamond advise

"Very Good" translates to "Not Good Enough" if you're looking for a well-cut diamond...

The cut is a European if that means anything?

Does your girlfriend (or whoever the ring is for) WANT a European cut? They are very different than round brilliants, I wouldn't buy one unless she specifically requested one or loves antiques.

Bottom line, I'd go to a different jeweler. Either an online one OR I'd look at if any PS vendors or carriers of Crafted by Infinity diamonds are near you. Because what you're being shown isn't what you want at all.

If the store's policy is indeed to not provide a refund, you MUST persist in finding a well cut stone, or at least as well cut as possible. Personally, I know I will regret giving up so soon and not getting my money's worth.

She does like the European cut, she doesn't want anything too flashy which you get with the modern cuts. But as far as quality if you know of some repretal sites it would be appreciated.

nkc: Thanks for the nice comment. Sentiments like this really motivate me to keep offering input here.

RE other online sellers: It's definitely worth it to explore the different PS seller personalities and focuses. You'll find everything from small, one-man boutiques who will personally work to source something for you - to major operations with big staffs and vast available inventory.

With appropriate respect to your chosen jeweler, Distracts and Chrono have a point. It's your money, you should be able to apply it the way you wish.

Edited to add: I just saw your latest reply atop p2. Her satisfaction is number one, of course. I suggest you receiving proper value and service to be a close second - if not equal in importance to number one.
