Hello all diamond gurus..

I want to get a diamond ''C'' pendant made for my birthday present. I have been into a few jewellers, and the general concensus is that it should be about 3/4inch big, and that i think i want 10 x 0.1 pointers, therefore a carat in total roughly.

Now i have 2 main questions, firstly the setting. I was looking at tennis bracelets, and thinking that will be the right thing to do, ie claw set. one jeweller suggested channel setting, or something similar to micropave, but i am unsure about the light hitting the diamonds. Another jeweller said i should have an "edge" around the diamonds as the shape would be bad.. any thoughts?

Now the final question as always is the diamonds. I was quoted F colour, and vs quality. It is present from my parents, so i actually want to make it the most reasonable without compromising on quality. So if i went down to say G or H, is it a huge difference in visual effect in that size? Or price for that matter. I live in Hong Kong and I have been quoted about $840 for 10 x (f, vs), and making etc. I think this is good price, but it is still out of budget. Really looking to spend about $600 i think maximum. I know the shops here a cheap, but my basic question is what colour and clarity can i go down to to make it cheaper, that is still a beautiful sparkler... and an awesome piece?

Thank you so much for your time.
