I think lauren and i will probably start a thread in colored gems. I have a ton of photos of those!

What do you think Lauren? Oh and do you remember the carat weight of my tourmaline (might be a topaz)
28.gif
loose stone? I think the index was 1.67 or 1.62 somewhere in there.

And Kathryn and Lauren-- so sorry you are not feeling well. How many margaritas?
20.gif
Only 2, and then we had a walk around the mall.

We stopped in DeBeers and met this amazing SA named Janie! She was awesome, took the big rocks out of the back for us, including a 3 ct.. Asscher with a DeBeers number inscribed INSIDE of it! The number ended in 1492, which is the year Columbus discovered America, and coincidentally, I was born on Columbus Day!
9.gif

Be still my heart, that asscher was DIVINE!!!
Oh dear - your accent has gotten to me - I said ''Good night!'' about 4 or 5 times at the King Tut exhibit today!
2.gif
heheh, its infectious I''m afraid! lol How was the exhibit???
It was pretty good . . . I had this misconception in my mind that every artifact that contained gold, would be solid gold, but most were just gold-leafed onto wood.

There was some serious gold jewelry there, though. Very cool!

1.63 refractive index and 4.51 ct. That stone is awesomeness!

What a lovely group!! And the rings!
30.gif
Kathryn and I talked about road-tripping to various PSer''s cities - you''re on the list, so is Skippy, SDL, Harriet, etc. . .

Oh, and Kathryn''s ring on my hand - HOLY MOLY! I sooooooo want hers now. Not just any old 1.5 ct. - HERS! It''s really gorgeous in person, and a real fireball.

Also, I find it too coincidental that HappyAnniversary and I have the same size ting fingers! Her ACA is TDF! Anne''s Tacori is totally, totally drool-worthy, and Katie''s blue topaz is just gorgeous!!!!
Lauren dear, I am completely envious of your entire collection. It is really quite a marvel!

Oh and ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so in for this, you think we''d have a place to stay on the other end???

Did you see on myspace that Katie and I went to college at the same place at the same time??? Small world doll!
I don''t know how I missed this post! Must be my delerium from taking too many cold fighting drugs whilst trying to cook dinner.
2.gif

And that''s pretty cool! I kept thinking I knew someone who went to school in Naco, but could not for the life of me remember who!

And, of course we''d have a place to stay - I''d offer my home up to any PSer and I''d be willing to bet some of them would do the same for us!

Tourmaline.............1.63.... .01

I don''t think I took one! I knew I was waiting to see it outside, and then we forgot to get it out and put it on your hand! Eeeek!

Ladies,

Thanks for including me in your event Saturday. Lauren and Katie it's always great to see you, we should do it more often. Kathryn, Anne and Teri, it was a delight to meet you. I enjoyed talking with you, hearing your thoughts and seeing your taste in jewelry (you are all quite fashionable). I especially enjoying watching your reactions while ducking the flying cameras.

As a guy into "guy" stuff I don't talk bling with a lot of my local pals...so it's nice to have my daily duties validated by a group of beautiful & excited ladies! You're all gorgeous and fun - hope to see you again.

Cheers,

What a gorgeous group!!! Thanks for sharing your great pictures!

What a good-looking group!

And the BLING- WOWZA. Sounds like ya''all had a blast!

You guys look like you had a BLAST! Wish I could have been there!

You guys look like you had a wonderful time! I''m jealous, I live where there are virtually no other psers!

Great photos! Looks like you all had a fab time!

What great fun you all (ya''ll!) had. Loved the bling shots and pics of the group.
Maybe sometime we could have a combined DFW-Houston-Austin GTG !!

It looks like you had a great time -- and what amazing pictures you have! Thanks for sharing with us!

IWPA: What''s the story behind that yummy stone?

My grandfather brought home a bagful of stones from Africa after WWII. When he passed away he left me this one and a 5.65 Ct portugese cut citrine. My mother has a citrine, an amethyst, a peridot and an opal.

And both stones are gorgeous!!!!!
