Defective setting?

I purchased the "keystone" setting from Whiteflash. I have a few questions, especially from those who own this setting.
The Whiteflash logo is missing with only "18k" and "US" inside the shank. The hollowed out part has a hole in the gold (not the hole below the culet of the diamond) and the hollowed out part is rough and seems "unfinished". Are these defects?

Well, I contacted someone at Whiteflash. They will get back to me tomorrow. Hope they can help me.

The hollowed parts of a ring setting are often left unfinished. A visible hole where there shouldn't be one doesn't sound right though, it sounds as if there was an air bubble that should have been caught before the setting was used. Have you heard back from WF?

Here's a picture of the underside of WF's Keystone setting. It doesn't look as if the hollowed part was ever polished.

Great news. Ms. Vera from Whiteflash called me directly and we discussed the issues I had with my setting. She was very polite and professional and explained to me the nuances that come with polishing my type of setting and that it in no way affected the integrity of the setting. They're letting me send the ring back for further inspection to see what can be done to fine tune my setting. Once again Whiteflash has come through with exceptional customer service.

BTW - I have to admit was thrown off by the first three pictures you posted. I'm glad you're getting it all straightened out!

I'm not going to lie. I love love love my ring. It's beautiful and the half bezel is great. But, after seeing the pitting and "unfinished" look of the hollow shank, I didn't think it would bother me so much. I really hope they can polish it better for me.
