Okay, Mr. O is making me mad just because he thinks it''s okay to call McCain ''John'' while McCain is addressing him and referring to him as Senator Obama! That''s a whole lot of tacky! Disrespectful in the extreme.
Hi, Holly!

Well, they are both senators, and I guess that makes them co-workers. I don''t call my co-workers Mr. or Mrs. So-and-so.
2.gif
I don''t interpret it as disrespect exactly, although I think it would be better if he was as formal in address right now as McCain. I don''t usually get my knickers in a twist about such things, which could be attributed to a lot of things other than overt disrespect.

I''m sitting here with a glass of tawny port and listening with half an ear from the computer room...I really can''t stand these things. Don''t know why. Listening to presidential debates is always like a dental appointment for me for some reason.

honestly i think there is some ''debate tactic'' as to why they are addressing each other in that way.

This is a formal, presidential debate. They should address each other respectfully by title...this isn''t a hallway somewhere. But then again, I''m old fashioned Korean and still have a hard time calling my friend''s parents by their first name!

Is anyone watching CNN? Obama seems to be doing well with the independents.

Honey, they aren''t exactly colleagues. Haven''t worked together long enough. But, nevertheless, in this medium, they should be formal and polite . . . while they are beating each other up.
9.gif
Kinda like all of us here in the ATW forum??? LOL!
9.gif
No. I can be ''casual'' while kickin'' your butt.
9.gif
Hey, I''m in my PJs . . . how''s that for casual?!?!

Karen, it does get painful sometimes.

Okay, that was a good analogy: "using a hatchet where you need to use a scapel". Good point. See, I can be nice about the guy.

This is the first time I''ve allowed my kid to watch TV. Poor thing.

I couldn''t tell for sure over the drilling in the dining room, but I think McC just said "nucular." SHOT!!!

::gulp::

Now I am wearing my tiara AND my wedding ring

Ditto, I thought so too. Amelia looked at me when I said "Ooo."

ooH ANOTHER INTERRUPTION!

Did "Barrack" just say "orgy of spending"?

I love Obama''s big ears and McCain''s neat and perfect haircut.
That''s about all I''m finding interesting right now.

It irritates me that the moderator has asked the same questions three and four times. They just can''t stick to the answers...

"You like Bush!"

"No, I''m not into Bush!"

"You do!"

"I don''t! I like Dick, not Bush, I swear!"

What a statement about our current administration . . . "I''ve opposed our President on the torture of prisoners" ...

McC sure likes to brag about the fact that he''s not Ms. Congeniality in the Senate!
20.gif

OOOOH, AND HE JUST SAID "MAVERICK" ~ TWICE! SHOTTY SHOT SHOT!!!

We should have made "congeniality" a shot word.

Way to rub in your experience though McCain!!!
36.gif

$hit. He just mentioned Palin.

so we just got ....um....... nowhere on the ''economy'' right?

maybe i just don''t understand politics ;)

How so?

Oops! The boy just turned off the TV in disgust at Obama for letting McCain off the hook for stuff. He''s been talking...yelling? at the tube.

He likes these things about as much as I do.

Guess I''ll have to read the transcripts later...drat.

But I can still drink port...
