Oh, how sad. I hope his wife will be okay, it would be awful for their daughter to lose both her parents...

The guy who caused the accident was 85 years old. People 85 years old shouldn''t be driving and need to be retested each year. The guy is on the 18th hole of his life and is waiting to putt out and shouldn''t be driving at that age.

Unless you have knowledge of the crash beyond what was posted and linked to this site, you do not know that the 85 year old man caused the accident or shouldn''t be driving.

He did cause the accident according to this section of the article:

Police cited the driver of the car, James Houston, 85, of Beacon, for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Please, let''s not turn this into a road safety discussion. Everybody is a hazard to someone else at one time or other.

Mr. Kretchmer was as passionate about riding as he was about his craft. He left us while enjoying the freedom that the road gives motorcycle enthusiasts. There is an everpresent vulnerability, and everyone who rides understands, and accepts those risks.

If we can all send a wish that his wife and daughter will come through this with the comfort of knowing that he will never be forgotten forthe strength of his contributions to the industry, nor for his unconquerable spirit, then we will have done something meaningful.

I will ride the wind in his memory, and honour his life through work.

Thank you. Far more eloquently put by you.

Steven Kretchmer's work continues after his death

Despite the sudden and tragic death of world renowned jewelry designer and metallurgist Steven Kretchmer, his work continues to live on as the design studio that bears his name released the newest addition to its Inner Secrets Collection.

"...While we mourn the loss of our leader's tragic passing this summer, we continue to follow through with the many inventions and innovations that Steven had set in place before his untimely accident," the design house said. "Through his wife, daughter and loyal employees, his legacy will continue on in the quality and detail that he instilled in every piece."

It's great to see his legacy continue.
