DBTY necklace: .25 pointers?? what size is best??

Well, what do you know: not one of the 3 stores today had a DBTY necklace--in fact the first SA did not know what I was talking about. The other 2 'could order it'. So, will try again at a few more places!!

Elfiede, I really like your necklace--thank you so much for posting the photo with the size comparisons, it helps!

DS, the center stone in my ering is a 1.7 RB, pre PS, but still a pretty good stone: E VS1 GIA in a JB Star setting.

The setting itself has another 1.6 of tapered baguettes, princess & full cuts. (I just looked it up to be sure, last time I gave an incorrect number )

I don't think my ering is in the huge mondo rock category, and as such, would not 'drive' the DBTY size decision. If it were a 2.5 plus, it definitely could be a factor. I think the DBTY decision is either the 15 like orbaya or the 20 like bliss...decisions decisions!

Thank you, sarahb, I really like the look of larger stones in DBTY, besides the costs of bezels in platinum were high, so I figured I wouldnt bother with smaller stnes.. i have 0.12 as outer stones and they are definately small for me, but I seldom see them, so that is OK. I think tze necklace with 11x0.15-0.20 stones will be divine no matter what. Also it s very important that you are happy with the bezel and chain quality. What metal do you want?

Elfiede, platinum all the way. I just wish I could find some place locally to see the size dif IRL--have you noticed bezel quality to vary between venders? WF did my eternity & it was a home run from all aspects.

From what I read on PS when I was researching for DBTY before the Project, the platinum bezels are finer than Gold ones. As for the bezel Quality, I recall one user (Smith1940 I think) comparing them from BGD and WF, while both were extremely even and perfect, she felt that BGD ones were showing less metal around the Stones, a bit finer than the WF ones. Her were RG and WG, I have not seen platinum comparision...There are also many happy PSers with DBTY made by IDJ, however I also recall one user having Problems with her bracelet bezel having some sort of bulbs and being uneven. I dont know how/if it was sorted out. IDJ offers are great, from what I heard, so if I were from US, I would definately use them with comfort to know if somethng is not to my satisfaction they could fix it. I am however not in US and returning juwelry is PITA..

As for trying the sizes on..Don#t you have Tiffanys near you? This design is from them, so it is good to see the original. They also have various sizes to try one. This is what I did, and was torn between solitaire and multiple Stones necklaces, hence decided to do graduated Version to have the best of both worlds. I am very happy with BGD bezel and chain workmanship, they look to me on par with original Tiffanys ones only without Elsa Peretti chain stamp and Tiffany pricetag
