DBL pear ring

So much information!!! It's extremely helpful and overwhelming at the same time to a newb like me :twirl: I have to say I find the setting gorgeous and that's not where my doubts were in the slightest. I love the overall look of the ring. It would be a RHR... a combo of my birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day, and grad school graduation gift since they're falling so closely together. I've never owned a stone that white before and now I'm worried that my G e-ring will look dull in comparison  I've steered away from the idea of wanting to upgrade my center for the next few years.

Edit* I'm not color sensitive. I would have never know my e-ring was a G if I didn't come across the GIA cert. But I feel like I would notice a G and a D side by side.

I very much appreciate everyone's input! Especially RockDiamond... you make some gorgeous jewelry!!!

I really, really want this ring or something like it. Now it's just a matter of waiting to hear back from my DH. He's deployed and communication always seems to be spottiest when I want a quicker response :wink2:

+2 agreed

I've Ben eyeballing this DBL piece for a couple days. I love the color and style, but I worry slightly about the inclusions in the center. Thoughts and opinions? I do love it in the pictures.

:wavey: Mlobo! I too have been browsing a few of the new beauties on the DBL site - and I really like this ring!

I *have* seen many rings up close and personal, tried on SEVERAL and even posted a long PS thread on here in November, when I visited DBL and met with David. I thought they were VERY WELL made!! (I own a BGD and IDJ ring(s) as well as now being the proud owner of a DBL band - but I do *not* own any SK/VC/LM settings so can not compare with those benches) Here is my thread if you want to see some RL perspective shots on a size 8 hand --- but the rings are generally made in a 6 : https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/enerchis-awesome-dbl-adventure-yummy-fcds.181397/

The nice thing about a board like PS is we can all have different and varied opinions about "life, love and the pursuit of bling", so to speak ;)) ... and we can also chose to listen or ignore advice given. Bottom line, its what makes YOU happy - and if this is talking up a storm in your head --- get it!! buy it!! love it!!! and please, please, post a WHACK of pics of it because I love this combination!!!

Rockdiamond is David of DBL and I think he's explained well, how his rings are made. If this ring really intrigues you, I'd say call him up and talk things over. Maybe it does get shipped out to you to view it, as YT suggested above, and then you can really see for yourself how you would enjoy or not enjoy owning it. Never hurts to check it out... right?

enerchi, you always have the nicest responses!

I really like that ring. I do agree there is a bit of excessive metal in the halo BUT if you are wanting a pink halo, you can either use nondiamond stones, more expensive/more intense FCDs, or the less expensive FCDs with a little more metal to make it a little more pink. On a white diamond halo it would drive me crazy, but with the pink ones I honestly don't mind.

I also PERSONALLY would not be bothered by the inclusions, however I know I have an uncommonly high tolerance for inclusions. As long as I usually don't see them, even if I can occasionally spot them without a loupe, I am fine. But everyone has a different level they're comfortable with.

Just wanted to say welcome to PS from a fellow military spouse!

I'm not a military guy or vet, but I always welcome the opportunity to thank those who serve our country...
THANK YOU!!
I suggest to all military consumers to mention that fact as some vendors give military discounts.

About imperfections: in talking to consumers its very apparent to me there's a lot of misunderstanding about clarity grading, and it's implications.
For example, an I1 diamond is not "less sparkly" than an internally flawless by virtue of that fact alone.
It might be less sparkly- and it might even have to do with the imperfection- but there's no direct relationship.
What this means is that not all I1 diamonds are created equal- same for any clarity. An I1 can be just as sparkly as an IF
I suggest consumers ask the vendor to look at the stone and get an opinion on the severity of the imperfection based on first hand observation.

Thank you to all the military and the spouses who support them! (My niece and dad are military people, although my dad's service was in England 50 years ago in the Royal Navy.)

David - thank you so much for your earlier response re. casting and hand-forging. It was most enlightening - thanks for taking the time.

The setting on the ring discussed looks amazing to me.

Thanks for all the thanks! We're a full military family... we both served (but I left active duty a couple years ago after realizing how hard leaving my little one was). A huge thanks to all the other military families and supporters out there! :wavey:

Still anxiously awaiting a response from DH lol. I'm so impatient. :twirl:

Is it Mrs.Taylor who has that ring? I think she is reselling it and it is posted in the pre-loved forum!

OP you should check out her listening. I remember it is a pear from DBL but dont' remember the specifics so it might be different. But if you don't mind pre-loved it is always a good deal!

I actually already did. She said it was sold pending payment. It's gorgeous though! I love rose gold.
