I want to start by thanking all those who post here trying to help those less informed like myself. I have been visiting this forum for quite some time and I have learned much. I am truly grateful.
I have been researching diamond basics for a long time now in preparation for a purchase any day now. I think I have become mentally numb in the process however. I am looking at 2 EMERALD cut stones. Here are the particulars that were made available to me.
Diamond # 1
Shape - Emerald Cut
Dimensions - 6.99 x 4.98 x 3.18 mm
Weight - 1.07 Carat
Depth - 63.9%
Table - 64%
Girdle - Medium to Slightly thick
Culet - none
Polish - Good
Symmetry - Good
Clarity - VVS1
Color - F
Fluorescence - None
Diamond #2
Shape - Emerald Cut
Dimensions - 8.00 x 5.07 x 3.27mm
Weight - 1.18 Carat
Depth - 64.5%
Table - 64%
Girdle - Thin to Medium
Culet - SMALL
Polish - Good
Symmetry - Good
Clarity - VVS2
Color - E
Fluorescence - None
I just want to say that I fully understand that I would need to see these diamonds in person and have them appraised. ( I think by Mr. Atlas as I am in Philly area) I was just curious as to if any of the experts have any general thoughts on these 2 stones. My only concern is that diamond #2 is only a bit more expensive yet it is 11 points heavier (1.18 vs 1.07). One has better color and the other has better clarity. Just looking for some basic thoughts.
Thanks again for your time and effort.
