David Klass ring in the works! Join my journey :)

OMG! I'm so excited someone is doing this type of setting -- it will look awesome with your MQ! I sent DK that very setting for my asscher, but ended up changing my mind...

Here it is with my asscher (poorly) photoshopped...

And the CAD...

It will look even better with a MQ -- can't wait to see your ring!! Congrats!! :wavey:

Lolol!! No wonder he made the cad do fast! He already had the shank in the computer. That is so funny. We would have been ring twins! The basket is from another Erstwhile ring that I loved. I'm curious what you ended up with?

Apacherose, I know, I can't decide if she wants to be fancy (of course!) or cape (of course!).....I seriously love both looks. I am going to see if he can set it on top each color metal to help decide. My initial reaction was just to do it in a simple all yellow gold prong and thin round band.

The ruby ring is one of my favorites but I had to abandon it because the halo would make the ring go over my knuckle lol. Also it feels more like a dinner ring than an engagement ring I think. Sigh.

Pretty! Those rose gold prongs really disappear on that shade of stone!

Thanks! Do you know when your ring will be finished?? I'm in love with that setting and can't wait to see it (even if it's not mine)! ;))

Maybe end of next week? How long did it take once you approved CAD?

Great now I'm on Peter's site looking at stones. Thanks a lot! What's the best way to contact him?

David was pretty quick -- like a week! The best way to contact Peter is by email ([email protected])... he does amazing work. I have an oval spinel cut by him, and it's electrifying!! (it's a lab stone, so I don't think I'm allowed to post... BOO!!) ;))

Wow then maybe I will have it sooner! I have my eye on Peter's purple spinel emerald cut. I texted him but will email too.

Ooooohhhh!!! I saw that -- lovely!!

Well the spinel is sold but he is setting aside the sunstone asscher. Is that durable for a ring?

I can't wait to see the finished ring. It's going to be lovely!

That sunstone has a beautiful orange/peachy color! I think sunstone may be too fragile for an everyday ring, but it would be AMAZING in a pendant! :)) ...bezel, anyone?? :naughty:

I've had my eyes on his pink radiant Malaya garnet and oval blue zircon for a while now... they are both sooo nice! I wish a PS member would get them, so I can live vicariously through them! :halo:

Wow..gorgeous diamond & fabulous design setting. Glad the right David got your stone & you're moving ahead with your project.

I may snatch up the garner or elongated oval spinel!

Thank you!!! I am so relieved too after all that drama. I can't wait to reveal the finished ring.....once I pick a metal! I'm leaning towards all white or plat. Bracing myself for the price difference lol

Yes! Please do!!!! :appl:

Can't wait to see this baby set!

Does adding palladium strengthen the gold and eliminate nickel? I'm bracing myself for the cost of all platinum!

I have heard his platinum quotes are very reasonable- I'm sure he wil get back to you soon...

Oh yes I'm sure you are right, hard to be patient through holiday weekends lol I'm eager for this baby to be on my hand!

DK uses a palladium/white gold alloy that is nickel free, very bright and lovely and doesn't need to be plated.

Here is a photo comparing it to platinum- the e-ring is the 14k palladium wg alloy, and the eternity is platinum.

I have a couple of pieces in this alloy and really, really like it.

That is gorgeous! Wow, thank you so much for that photo!!! Does the palladium add strength to the wg?

Is that a marquise eternity? Can I see another pic?? I'm thinking of having him make me one :-)

Ah! David sent awesome pics of my stone in yellow gold and white gold settings. Help! I'm leaning towards either the whole thing in white gold, or doing the basket yellow gold. I suppose I won't really see the basket except from the side. I like that it looks like a cape stone in the white gold, and this will be a very delicate setting so it won't be so surrounded by metal like this example. My wedding band is white gold. Casting in the morning! Thoughts?

Personally I prefer a white metal for your stone. It will have a very chique and elegant look. But it's a very personal choice so I would listen to your own heart: which combination sings to you more?

Either way it will be a stunning ring.

Thanks :-) I am going to do all white metal! Deep breath. I'll exhale when it's on my finger next week. Longest week ever!!!!!!

Great choice! Very excited to see this ring coming along so quickly after your unfortunate mix up early on. This ring is going to be amazing! So happy for you! :wavey:

Such a mixup, oy! He got right to work and I am so excited to see the finished product. David and Amy are a fantastic team to work with.

I can not wait to see this!! It is going to be incredible! I have just started the ball rolling getting my marquise reset, I am also struggling with which metal to choose! I think the white will be stunning with this design
