I think I am more excited than her. I can't wait to get home and help with dress and all that stuff.

Aww, congrats! I'd be super excited, too! Won't ever happen for me though since I have two boys, lol.

That's great autumngems! :appl: Have a wonderful time!

How fun! Wonderful! I have good memories of proms and formals in high school, it was one of the few times my mom 'approved' of me.

HI:

How fun! Enjoy yourselves!

cheers--Sharon

Forgive my Canadian ignorance ( )

But what do you mean by first prom?

Oh, I hope that she has a fabulous time! Have fun with it:)

I'd be over the moon! Next year for me will be her first.. hopefully! Have fun!!!

A prom is a fancy/black tie/formal dance for teens (in high school). In many schools, prom is a pretty big deal and it's something fun for parents and teens to get excited about.

Ah, gotcha! I think (in general) prom is for juniors and seniors in high school (some schools allow sophomores to go if they are asked to go by a junior or senior). Some teens go to more than one prom throughout high school (I went to three - sophomore, junior, & senior year).

Fun times! I look forward to these days with my own DD!

How fun! Be sure to post pics of her dress!

Where I went to high school, the junior class puts on the prom. They pay for it by selling "bids" (invitations). Sophomores can attend if they are the date of a junior or senior; the prom committee reviews those bids and typically approves them, same for bringing someone from a different school.

It's probably a lot looser now

Please let us know how it goes!!!!

HI:

How'd it go??

cheers--Sharon

She had a really good time, She was not happy with her hair it was supposed to look different. She showed the lady a pic of what she wanted and it didn;t come out like she wanted. Everyone loved her dress.

I was a freaking mess, trying to get everything done.
Pics at our house, then to a friend's house for more pics, it was insane but I loved every minute of it.

I cried after I got home

She looked gorgeous!
I'm sorry about her hair not turning out as hoped - it still looked beautiful:) Things are bound to go wrong, but it sounds like it was a success overall.

Oh she looks beautiful!!! :appl: What a pretty dress. I had to smile when you mentioned she didn't like her hair - my daughter was never happy with how hers came out for her proms either. She would come home and say "I should have just done it myself!" lol. And your daughter's hair looks great btw! Thanks for posting the pics, and so glad she had a great time. I understand the tears AG, it's bittersweet to see our "babies" growing up!

HI:

Looking good! Sorry for the hair disappointment--but I thought it was gorgeous!

cheers--Sharon

She looks so beautiful! It sounds like it was a wonderful night.

So pretty! Love her dress!

I cry too when DD is all dressed up. She's looks so grown up... Where did those years go where I was toting her on my hip?

I thought her hair looked lovely but she is extremely picky (not sure where she get's this, lol) and wanted it just so.
