I contacted Daniel and Caren about setting some stones I had for my in-laws for the holidays. I'm super pleased with the work (and the prices)- :appl: so hear are the glamour shots- Sorry no real life shots on these as they are going straight to my IL's for the holidays.

The spinel is from Dana at Master Cut Gems. It is a plantium blue roval 2.21ct spinel from Burma. Measurements are 7.4 x 7.7. It is set into a DanielM 14k white gold basket setting

The lemon quartz are cushion cut- no idea on carat weight. DH brought these back from Afghanistan so we could set these for his mom. I think they about 8mm wide. They are set into a Daniel M 14k yellow gold bezel setting.

Enjoy! :P

Last one.

In RL the lemon quartz are much more of a soft yellow. I'm not sure why they look slightly orangey- at least they do on my monitor.

I love those bezels - those are beautiful earrings and I WANT THEM! I know this is a stupid question, but is the spinel a tie tack?

Dan and Caren did a great job...and to think you've already gotten presents out of the way - good for you!

Minousbijoux at first I read your question and my question back to you was going to be- "what is a tie tack?" But I figured it out. No- it is just a single stud. My FIL has an ear piercing and he loves to wear studs that match his outfit- not for everyone but he loves it. Every holiday season we get him a different gemstone as a stud for him to wear. My husband's entire family is really into gemstones except they typically buy them in jewelry already from a B & M store or from department stores like Nordstorm, Macy's etc. I'm trying to kick them of this habit.

I love these! What beautiful stones and the settings are wonderful, too. The lemon quartz look orangey on my monitor, too, but in the profile shot I can see the color that you probably see IRL, and it's delectable! Yum. :appl:

Those are gorgeous! I think the steel blue color of that spinel is suitable for a man or a woman. Gotta love a dude who will wear jewelry!

I know my FIL is a really nice guy. Last year we got him a pink sapphire stud and he loves it! He tries to match his studs to what he is wearing. He probably has 20 studs all different colors. I think next year I will try to get him an Spess Garnet- I don't think we have given him anything orange yet.

great stones.

Those lemon quartz earrings are seriously gorgeous.

What lovely and thoughtful gifts, Sarahbear, and they're even more special with the thought you put into them. The bezels on the quartz earrings look exceptional - I like how thin they are, and I think they're finest I've seen from Daniel M!

I second Cellentani's sentiment about the best bezeling we have seen from him.

They are a really awesome thoughtful gift Sarah! Too Bad I'm not your MIL, cause I seriously dig those lemon quartz earrings.

Awesome bezel on those earrings – I adore the open back for those as I’m partial to collet set jewellery. :appl:

Beautiful! I especially love the bezels!

My dad used to wear an earring all the time... hrm... I wonder why he doesn't anymore? I'll have to see if it's just because he's got nothing as nice as that stud to wear!

All beautiful, but I prefer the citrines!
