I was thinking the same thing!!!

What do people think of safety chains for bracelets? Yes or no? Thanks.

They catch on things. Make them as short as possible - just big enough to get over your hand. If possible twitch then around something so they do not hang down loosely.
Figure 8 catches of hinged under box clasps that have a pin that goes through the tongue are good for tennis braclets.

Another one, reaching into things.
Reaching into things and catching your ring on the way in or out can lead to damage.
It can also add up over time with no apparent damage but stress fractures are occurring in the metal that add up over time.
Catching you bracelet reaching into things can also happen.
