Pure white cats and pure black cats, in my experience, are oddly smart for their species. They're a lot like people, less like cats.

iLander let me tell you my dumbest cat, by ALOT, is pure white.
Gorgeous, with the softest fur. Sweet as the day is long. Cuddles like nothing else. But dumb, dumb, dumb.

God love him, but when God was handing out cat brains, he was still in the line for looks.

Aww, that is such a cute cat. And interesting story. Gypsy your cat would have to battle with my cat for dumbest cat ever. I have 2 cats, sisters. One cat is super smart. The other really dumb but the sweetest snuiggliest cat ever. She was accidentally locked in the linen closet all night. She went into the closet when I was putting away sheets. I closed the door and went to bed. The next morning when she did not come at the sound of food I went looking for her and found her in the closet. She walked out, used the liter box and then was pawing at the door to get back into the same closet she was locked in!
