I have also asked to see triple excellent dimaonds to compare (cut, symmetry and polish). This is just over 1.6 with an E color and on the IGI certificate it says the cut is excellent then below it has a comment on the certificate that says "ideal cut" which I assume means even better. I want the ring to REALLY sparkle and wanted to make sure it would reflect light and look as nice when compared with a triple excellent diamond. I was going to make sure I viewed it first (before mounting) before purchaseing and was hoping to be able to compare it to a triple excellent diamond as well to see if the difference in cost compared to the diamond quality.
Being a novice to this I doubt I would see a difference.
A little flo can be a good thing, as long as no milky look is there. The E with a little flo sounds just yummy. Watch out for that jewelry store lighting. You need to view the stones in natural light. I've never seen a noticable diff between excellent and vg polish and symm--except in an emerald shape. Particularly symmetry drives me wild with emerald shapes. Edited to add: Ditto with any step cut shape.
If two ideal stones are similar with excellent cut, and according to thread, person will not see visual difference between excellet and very good for polish and symmetry- then will the triple excellent be more expensive??? SHould there be much of a price difference at all just for the cert. to say "excellent" instead of very good for polish, etc.?
Very curious to see if you notice a difference in store when you compare!!! Do tell!

If all the cut specs are on, VG symmetry/polish is fine. There may be a noticeable difference to the eye with just good polish/symmetry.
