Cut analysis please

Hi! This is the MRB I have purchased from Jon at Distinctive Gems. I was satisfied by the cut being in the GIA ex and AGS ideal nexus. Now I’m just trying to thoroughly understand cut angles and all that because I find it interesting.
So upon a deeper dive into this particular diamond, I’m seeing that the 33.5 crown angle gives more brightness at the expense of fire. But combined with 40.8 pavilion and 58 table it still all works together? Still less fire though? Any analysis is welcome! Just finding all the physics fun to look into and understand. You won’t hurt my feelings, I’m going to wear and enjoy the stone and then at some point probably trade in for a nice big AVC. Thank you!

I guess my main question is what does it mean that the angles “work”? Do different combos that work produce similar visual effects? Or at there many different flavors of “works”? Thanks

There are many different flavors.
Even two diamonds of near identical carat weight, color, and clarity with the same averaged/rounded CA, PA, and TW can have different light performance personalities.
Will it be a noticeable difference to the casual observer or even an experienced consumer? Maybe, but probably not.

That being said, different combos can certainly produce different visual effects.
A slightly steeper crown angle paired with a slightly shallower pavilion angle would tend to lean towards more fire, as a diamond bearing a slightly shallower crown angle paired with a slightly steeper pavilion angle would tend to lean towards brilliance.

And anything vetted by Jon is gonna be beautiful Yes, different personalities. I also think Your combo leans more towards brilliance which is also a important and attractive attribute of diamond~

CA and PA should have an inverse relationship to "work together". On one end of Jon's chart, the shallow crown angles are paired with steeper pavillion angles while on the other end the steep crown angles are paired with more shallow pavilions.

My first diamond was a 35/41 and while beautiful, it didn't perform well in some lighting due to having a steep/deep profile. Notice, that combination of angles does not appear on his chart.
