Custom Ring Ideas

Hi! I am looking for some help with any ideas or examples for what I could do with a pair of earrings I have!

What I have- 2 .5 princess cut diamonds and I would buy a 3rd larger stone (not entirely sure what yet) But my inspiration is a toi et moi style ring. I am thinking the two princess cut diamonds on one side, and then maybe a larger yellow cushion cut diamond, or maybe even an emerald cut tourmaline. Would something like this look completely ridiculous? I have worn the earrings maybe once and would really like to repurpose them, but don't really care for princess cuts (these were the costco earring deal, so i got them haha). Any examples or ideas along these lines would be appreciated!

You know what might look really nice also, in a similar vein?

If your toi et moi had a split shank on one side, the two ends curled outwards like a V, with your princess cuts on the edges of each split end, and a pear shaped stone (of whichever colour you like - I think a paraiba would look delicious, but so would any other stone since diamonds go with anything) with the point of the pear angled towards the V split of the 2 princess cuts, but with enough of a gap between both sides to see your finger from above (to give it delicacy). You could even halo the 2 princess stones with melee to match whatever stone you put on the other side and halo that stone with teeny tiny diamond melee. I haven’t seen this, but if it sounds interesting I can draw it (badly) and put it up for you you can even do it as a between the finger ring to emphasise the gap!

Oh I love these!! I wish i had pear stones instead of princess haha, but hopefully could make the princess work for something like that!! thank you

Also hoping my princess diamonds aren't too small to make something substantial enough for this style, hope I'm wrong!

This sounds really neat! I would love a drawing haha, I've been doodling rings as well trying to figure something out!

stone you would like for the other side.

Yes, I really like the idea of the split shank as well!

If I didn't go the split shank route, do you think it would look silly to have the princess cuts point to point?

You could set them point to point on the split shank as well. I personally don’t like the idea of point to point touching, but it could work, especially if you have something slot into the space in between (geometric, black/white).

I don’t have time to do this right this minute but I’ll see if I can draw both ideas out for you within the next 12 hours or so?

That would be amazing!! Its no rush at all, I'm just in pipe dream phase at the moment, I've reached out to DK to get a quote on making a ring so I need to wait for him to get back to me as well.

Also- as i'm searching loupe troop for another stone, do you have any advice on what size I should be looking for to look good with the .5's?

I like the idea of a 1ct to balance out the 2 0.5s, or maybe 1.5. I wouldn’t do anything much bigger than that!

Btw I tried to draw it out on paper but it looked so terrible I resorted to emojis on my phone. I have attached images of the emoji scribbles here just to give you a rough idea:



(Sorry, toddlers are better artists than I am!). This is what I thought for a split shank with a pear on the other side. You can halo the white princesses with melee of the pear stone, whatever you go with, and the pear stone with diamonds.



This was my idea for something geometric to go with your 2 princesses. The inner black square can be any stone, also a square shape, with a double halo (one diamond and one of the same inner stone). I imagined the entire composite of the right side being slightly bigger than the gap between the 2 princesses.

I hope this at least helps you doodle a better drawing! If you could comment once you’ve seen it I’ll take the images down if possible since I’m a bit embarrassed by this

I like the kite set split shank...its interesting to look at. I would take the split further down and make it less curved (but I know this is just a crude
drawing).
