I don''t want to give out too much information just to be safe, but I''ll tell you this: The table is in the mid 50s and the depth in the mid 60s. It''s a cushion brilliant. Ratio about 1.12. The clarity is better than what I was seeking and the price is a fair sight lower than my budget!

Whatcha think?

Why don't you want to give out too much information? If you are worried that someone will snatch it first, I would suggest reserving the stone first and then posting *all* of the information. Places can usually reserve a stone for a day or two for free. In order to really evaluate this stone it helps to have the actual numbers, although so far they seem fine. The image helps, but an aset image would be even better.

So far it looks good. I do need more information though. I can already guess who''s the vendor by the picture so please tell the vendor to reserve the stone first. Then spill the beans on the cert type and all the other information. A side view is also helpful if you don''t have the sarin for crown height.

I was being coy because Mark is out of town for the weekend and I wasn''t sure if the stone could get sold through another site. I just talked to his partner though, and he said that it''s going nowhere and not to worry about it! So here''s (as Paul Harvey would say) the rest of the story. You''ve probably guessed that it''s from ERD. I don''t have information on the crown angles but Mark said that they''re not too high on this modern cut.

No red flags there, aside from losing a little weight in the girdle, but that is typical (assuming it is not VTK in most places). And I like the overall shape and ratio. If Mark says it is a winner, I think the numbers back that up, so I''d strongly consider this one if its in your price range.

It looks very pretty and the most important thing, do you like it?!

Yeah, I kinda do.

Nice to have the Boston Jeff seal of approval, too.

I sent the specs and pic to Maytal, who is going to make the ring, and she said it seemed great. Come Tuesday (or whenever the banks open this week) I think I''ll send for it.

Update - I got this stone today and it is... woah.

I''ve been comparing it in all sorts of light to my H&A square and I''ve got to say that the performance seems very close, if not on a par, to my untrained eye.

Working with Mark Turnowski was fabulous. He''s very calm and knowledgeable and just a pleasure to deal with. I was originally looking for something with chunky facets, but he told me that I wouldn''t get as much fire out of a 4 pavilion stone as I would out of an 8 pavilion one. He ran across this stone in his dealings and emailed me about it. They even did a little movie of it for me! BTW, Gary''s really wonderful to talk to, too.

My next step is to talk to Maytal about ring design.

I''ll attach my beginner idealscope image and one of the stone itself.

My camera case is pink, so the diamond caught that and is sending it back in spades.

Looks yummy, Addlepated.

I can''t wait to see it set!

Your stone is beautiful!

Have you talked with Maytal at all yet? She''s really great to work with and her pieces are so pretty! I just got my sketch from her for my cc sq. H&A.

Yes, I''ve emailed back and forth with her and she''s very pleasant. I''m looking forward to working with her (as well as seeing what she creates for you).

I showed the sketch to some coworkers today and they really liked it. I''m really excited! I can''t wait to see what she does with that cushion of yours!

Fantastic stone. Wow, all the stats look great and the pictures you took really reflect that. Congratulations!

Thanks, y''all! If the sun ever comes out, I''ll try to get some fire shots.

The funny thing is that Mark accidentally sent me the picture of Neatfreak''s stone at first because they look so much alike. I had been doing so much scouring of cushion information on Pricescope that I thought it looked familiar.

Sera, are you going to post your sketch here? I''d love to see what it looks like, not only for the design but to see what sort of process I have to look forward to.

A little bit of fire...

And some facets, still with the pink camera. I had no idea how much cameras showed up in diamond reflections!
