I am currently loving cushion center stone with half moon side stones. I have seen some out there, but with halo''s and pave bands. Does anyone have or have pictures of just a cushion center stone with half moon side stones?

Also- if you had a 3ct round and a 3ct cushion next to eachother, I thought cushions looked larger, but I read in another thread that the round would be larger, which is it?
Could a cushion sparkle as much as a round?

Hiya Golden!

Which is largest has to be decided with direct comparison of the diamonds and their diameter measurements, or spread. Cut quality can also make a difference, a superideal round cut to exacting proportions will be hard to beat for performance, and will face up well for it's carat weight, with a cushion it also depends on the cut as to how it performs and how large it looks for it's weight. A shallower cut cushion may look larger, excessively deep it may look smaller. So a well cut cushion can be an incredible performer like the round, it depends on your taste and preferences as to which you may prefer. Out of interest, I also think larger diamonds have a different ' vibe' and personality to smaller ones!

For bang for the buck, it is said that fancy shapes like pears, marquise and oval can look the largest for their weight.

Here is Kaleigh''s gorgeous Leon Mege oval w/half moons to give you an idea; I too only seen cushions w/half moons haloed.

I love a round brilliant for amazing sparkle. Lorelei is right, pears, marquise and ovals look big for their weight.

Ohhh, Golden, I LOVE that look too!! When we went to pick out the bm dresses for my wedding, the saleslady there had the most AMAZING 3+ct cushion with half moon sides.....it was GORGEOUS!!! Then she had several of these pave stacking w-bands on either side...it really was jaw dropping!!!

I have never had any project!! HAHAHA I am not even engaged, but I love looking and obsessed with what I would like to have ONE DAY!

here''s a cushion with half moon sides no halo.

most of the time, a well cut cushion will face up smaller than a round. if cushions are cut too shallow they can look flat and glassy IMO so you need some depth to really bring out the sparkle and fire. If your going for size, rounds are a better choice. I just adore cushions though!!
