Cushion experts please help!!!

HI all!!! I have some exciting news- my little brother (who is not so little anymore, lol) just told me a few weeks ago that he wants to propose to his gf.... And of course, he wants me to help him pick out the ring!! Actually, looks like Im going to be in charge of picking out the ring myself, since he is living down south right now for job training. So here I am - turning to my lovely friends/fellow PS-ers for help!!!

I have not read this entire thread but just wanted to throw something in for you to consider. Union Diamond is in Atlanta. Is your brother able to get to there to see some cushions for himself??

Thanks outatouch!! That would be a consideration, however I would not be able to get there, and considering how my bro is relying 100% on me to pick out the stone/ring (that's what older sister's are for I guess) Im not sure how that would work!!!

My Fiance won't let me post the ring

Dani, I personally LOVE the look of the square H&A diamonds that GOG has. Optically, they simply blow away any other cushions, at least judging by the videos he has, and they look very similar to RBs. Please check those out too!

My Fiance won''t let me post the ring

Well if you can''t get out there but are seriously considering a Square Cushion HA or that similar 8 main I posted than Jon has been known to do video comparisons for customers to help them decide.
Normally GOG charges to call in stones they don''t have in inventory (they have in inveotry all the ones with Lifetime Guarantee on their website), they won''t charge you if you decide to buy any stone from them, but that policy just ensures that they recover the costs of shipping and insurance if you decide not to buy from them.

I have a debate with Jon over how customers would feel about the 8 main CBs versus a Square Cushion HA (the comparison of two I gave above) and which one a customer might choose from a video given that they cost the same. I''m hoping you will be the customer that finally asks him to do that comparison

. You might even throw in a couple other stones into the video as well and ask Jon about one of the 4 main cushions like one of the ones Lorelei posted to add into the mix. That would definitely be an informative and educational comparison.

I was shopping around for cushions quite sometime as well and finally decided on a H&A cushion from GoG. The brilliance and sparkle is second to none among square diamonds. Although it would be interesting to see a video comparison on 8 facet cushion brilliants vs H&A cushions
