Cushion cut diamond help

I’m currently in the market for a cushion cut diamond 1.50 to 1.70
I saw one at my local jewelers that was 1.70
VS2 E 6.68 x 6.48 x 4.77
63 table 73.6 depth being that’s its GIA certified there are no measurements for the crown or pavilion angles. I’ve read that the depth could have much to do with the sparkle of a diamond. Could it be that 73.6% depth is too deep?
It’s beautiful in the showroom, but seems dull outside. My question is what would be the ideal grades, angles percentages that I should be looking for to get the most sparkle on a cushion cut diamond?

Hi ! In my research I’ve found that depth shouldn’t be more than 70%. If deeper the diamond will not have as much sparkle and will also face up smaller which the measurements you provided reflect. I would keep looking

Because there are so many different cushion faceting patterns you most likely wont find any "safe" angle definitions.
You can probably find table and depth percentages though. Mostly what I'm seeing is 70 percent for depth and under 63 for table.

Bottom line is that numbers are not that helpful with cushions. You really have to evaluate each stone on its own merits.
Aset images are useful with fancy cut stones like cushions. Always ask if the vendor can provide one. Some can and
some cant but it doesnt hurt to ask. Also, post links of stones you are interested in (put on hold first). We have a lot of folks on PS that
are good at looking at videos and can give you their thoughts on a stone.

Thank you so much for your response. I will definitely be posting cushion cut diamond contenders. I am so grateful that I found this site. I have learned a lot by reading other posts. I think I will feel more at peace getting advice from people like you that have more knowledge regarding diamonds than I do.
