Hello all,

I am in the process of going back and forth with Mark @ BE on a potential diamond for an engagement ring. I have read very good things about him on here, and I was wondering if anyone had any other specific questions I should ask / reports I should get / concerns I should have regarding his selections.

I gave a budget and samples of designs and he followed up with potential stones. See links below for the GIA report and video of the top choice.

Thoughts?

Hi JohninNC...

Do you have a link to the stone on their site? Reports dont tell us enough about fancy cut stones. We need up close images and aset images.

The stone looks good in the video from that distance but we really need an up close video.

Post the link and let us have a look...

Here are a few more images..

Hi John,

You can trust Mark's eye for sure with cushions. The images look great and if you want a modern cushion, this one has great potential. I can't see the stone in the video as the play/pause button sits right over the diamond, but if it lights up through the middle and around the edges once away from anything obstructing the light, you should be good to go.

Thanks Lorelei.. if you move your cursor off the video the play button should disappear. Also, I posted the link below if you would like to check the video through the Vimeo site.

Hi John,

Never mind, I managed it! If you divide the diamond into a clock face, there's an area between 12 o'clock and three which looks like it's going dark, can you check that out? I can see it a bit in the images.

I managed in the end, thanks John, see edited post above for comments.

Thanks for the response. I will look into it.

I'm glad you're seeing it too Ty, that's where I'm thinking it is also, if Mark turned the stone down to the right, that area on the video would match the ASET.
