What is your current size E-ring (and other specs if you know)?

No, that poll is an "perfect size" / "dream size" this poll is the actual size on her finger, and cut, clarity, color.

Please click on the link. This one was done for ACTUAL e-rings not dream size. It is posted in the Diamond Hangout.

I like this poll because it breaks down the actual numbers even more, the other one was too broad. My solitare is 1.79 cts rectangular Lucida, F, VVS2.

This is why I made it, it is way more specific. Plus, it's my first poll!

I do like this poll better too. There is a greater breakdown, and a request for the other 2 C's.

How come I can't post my pick? How do you "open" the poll? And it seems that when I click this thread only some of the time I can view the results thus far? Any help?

This should yield interesting results

Curious as to why you set the upper limit at 2.5 cts? As you can see from the other poll, there are a number of PSers with 3.0+ stones where there is a huge jump in price per carat from the 2.5 ct stones.

My vote above reflects a .94 8* F/VS1. Sweet spot on size color and hands down personality for me.

BUT>>> I do sometimes wish I had been a size queen. Could have gotten a goregous G/H VS2/SI1 well north of 1.5 for about the same amount. Oh well, maybe in my next diamond decade (which is only 3 years away.)

Is this poll a wish list or what you have ?

What you have, and I guess I should have put more sections for 2.5+, oops!

So where do you vote if your diamond is exactly 1.00? .50-1.00? or 1.00-1.50? I personally would have ended the ranges with .x9 so that it is clear. Reasoning behind .x9 instead of ending with .x0 is because there are large price jumps between .99 and 1.00, 1.99 and 2.00 etc.

Actually the reason for doing that is because it is my understanding that most diamonds will be just under or just over these "magic" marks. For instance a 0.99 diamond is more cmmon than 1.00, as is a 1.01 is more common than a 1.00 I might be completely wrong, but that is what I have always heard.?

Anyway if I had a 1.00 I would classify in teh 1.00-1.25 range, this is not ascience after all!

I currently wear a 2.03 G VS1 Round Brilliant.

Cflutist,

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but what's the deal with your two posts concerning the "price jumps"?

Who cares about the price jumps. Most people on these forums realize that there are price jumps once one hits the carat marks of x.25, x.50, x.00, etc.

The post is not asking what you paid for your diamond, it is just asking what size, clarity, color, etc. it is.

Perhaps it would have been better if he had added 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, etc. poll selections for you

I have a radiant 1:1.18, 1.71ct, F VS2!

Actually, I find the dicussion of price jumps interesting, not because I think it says or implies anything about the person and her diamond, but because of the way the diamond industry is managed. We all know cutters work desperately to make that next carat band, often sacrificing cut quality to do so. It would be interesting to see where people's stones fall among the bands as they are defined by the market.

Yes, I have a 3 ct diamond, but the woman with the 3 ct, VS1, F has a waaaaaaaaaaaay more expensive stone than I do. It's a fact. It doesn't offend me. There are people here with 5ct + stones. The bigger the stone, the more expensive it tends to be. If we were hypersensitive to this, no one except those with 5 ct, IF, D, ideals would post.

And while not a big deal--this is for FUN, remember???--it is a bit confusing in this poll for those at the exact carat marks. Perhaps, there should be an edit up front in the poll that notes how pple at 1.01, etc. should vote.

Anthonyd, don't worry--my first poll was a disaster.

You've actually done pretty well!

Wow. There is a really good spread in the poll...very interesting!

Mine (at least on saturday it will be mine!) is a
2.13 E vs2 modern cushion

Hi all.. this is good stuff. I have a 1.20 radiant with .48 sidestones. Very nice and perfect size. Someday I will upgrade to a 2carat but for now I couldn't be happier.

My e-ring's a 2.55ct J VS2 Princess
1.gif

From memory, the band's made up of 22 .08ct baguettes (1.75tcw in the band).

I am somewhat surprised at the results thus far. 40% (so far) are 2.0+, and about 35% are 0.5-1.25. I thought a huge majority would be in the 0.5-1.25, especially when you hear alot of people looking for "around a carat" (seems to be the catch phrase)

A lot has to do with geography too...I just noticed that Kayla, Jennifer, Alexah and I are all in New York (the center of the universe as we all know...J/K...)
