A couple of months ago, @YadaYadaYada posted about a 3 stone OMC ring in the “Somebody’s Gotta Buy This Piece” thread in the Antique Jewelry forum. When I saw this chunky OMC diamond in Aurifexation’s instagram post, it was love at first sight. I took a leap of faith and purchased the ring, even though the 1.63ct diamond was uncertified. When I received the ring, the diamond was undeniably stunning- it is the chunkiest diamond I’ve seen, and it is almost as tall as it is wide- the measurements are 6.53x6.46x5.80! It is pretty warm in color, probably in the champagne range of the diamond color alphabet. It has amazing kozibeh that’s hard to capture in photos.
However, I did not love the original setting. The contrast with the whiter sidestones made my warm OMC look dingy in some lighting situations. At first I asked for a refund, explaining my issue with the setting, but the seller offered the option to have her bench reset it for me into my desired chunky bezeled solitaire. I took her up on it and I could not be happier with the result! Now the diamond looks amazing in all lighting situations, and I wear it everyday. I actually wear this pinky ring more often than my engagement ring or wedding band! I call her Cupcake.
Thanks to all on PS that helped me with this ring!!
