Is it possible to calculate the crown and pavilion from the GIA report ?
How do I know the cut/grade ? I do I know if it is ideal etc ?

GIA Cert
Shape - round
6.59-6.62 x 4.06 mm
Weight: 1.08
Depth: 61.5%
Table: 56%
Girdle: thin to med
Cutlet none
Polish good
Symmetry good
Clarity SI1
Color H
Fourescence none
Inclusions:
clouds and crystal

It is not possible to calculate the crown and pavilion angles from the GIA report. You either need a Sarin report or an AGS report in order to judge the cut.

You can ask the vendor to ask the owner who submitted the stone to gIA to request the C and P info from GIA.

Hi, I was looking around and found this thread which clarifies my question (same as nywebchick).
So in a nutshell, there is no way of determining the angle of the crown and pavillion from the report.
What is one to do when looking at stones that have only a GIA report then?
I''m hunting for a 10 yr anny (loose) stone but there is no way to determine the proprotions..... so what do I do?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Gianmarco (newbie diamond buyer)

btw, this forum really opened my eyes, great job to all!

FWIW, I narrowed it down to 3 but this is the stone I''m thinking to pull the trigger on (after wife said size matters):
GIA Cert
Shape - round
8.71 x 8.81 x 5.15 mm
Weight: 2.37
Depth: 58.8%
Table: 58%
Girdle: very thin to slightly thick
Cutlet none
Polish good
Symmetry good
Clarity SI1
Color I
Fourescence none
Price $16,700 (+tax)

AGS stones have the data.

You can also do a search by Cut Quality - top right on this page.

These stones all cost a bit more but they will all be better cuts :)
