I’m terrible, I have absolutely no need of yet another ring but as an eBay addict I often stumble across items that are just too nice to not snatch up. It’s a 9mm cushion cut sapphire set in 14kt white gold with diamond halo and shoulders. It’s not a cast setting and appears well made. Now, the sapphire could be synthetic of course but I bought it for the setting. I mean what sort of 14kt gold setting with diamonds can you buy for $200? And if the sapphire is natural, even better.

Great find! Pls let us know if it’s a natural sapphire. Totally in awe of your eBay hunting skills.

Whoa great find! even if its all synthetics, it still a cool piece and a score at that price. Thought given you history with scoring big.. watch the sapphire be natural :)

I bow to your ebay prowess. That is lovely either way.

What are thinking for the setting (assuming you remove the sapphire)

Based on the stones in the halo and the color I feel pretty confident that’s synthetic. But if you like wearing it- that’s what matters. eBay is always a fun adventure.

On the off chance the sapphire is natural, I’ll sell it. I have my magnificent sapphire and diamond ring.
i bought the setting for another of my hoard find, an interesting white sapphire. Settings are so expensive and I’m trying to set as many of my gems as possible as cheaply as possible.70C805E1-E7F6-44AC-8528-7638A05B390C.jpeg876424DA-5866-4424-8D17-FB43FA941177.jpeg

Great find! You could be a professional ebay shopper.
If that is synthetic sapphire and you are just gonna chunk it, um, dibs! What a great color.

I like your style! :D

If the setting is gold that is a GREAT find! Let us know how it turns out.

Bluelicious ❤️❤️❤️

Great buy in any case.

Wow, great buy, and the color of that blue! Keep us posted as to what stone it is!

Well well well.
my ring arrived and after a clean (why do people not clean the stuff they are trying to sell) I’m rather pleased.
Not sure if the white sapphire will fit the setting? Excuse the “weird” photo it’s balanced on top upside down. Looks close that way but alongside may not.

Oh its lovelly
(I want it to be real)
But regardless
Have lots of fun working it all out

It looks amazing! It looks a little too good to be true but I am really hoping you lucked out here. Let us know what you find. Really curious. I would definitely keep the blue stone if it was real.

Thanks Sunstorm, my thoughts too but I only bought it for the setting . I’m hoping my visitors go home soon so I can drag out the microscope for a better look.

Oh I hope it’s a real sapphire. Regardless the setting is gorgeous! Great buy!

Wahoo!! What a spectacular find! So so happy for you @Bron357!!

Wow! What an amazing find! What is the carat weight of that sapphire?

I'd guess it comes from Sri Lanka.

Wow, do you think @Bron357 that you’ll keep the sapphire in the setting now, or do you still intend to use the setting for your other stone? The sapphire looks great in its current setting IMHO.

Good grief, how on Earth do you find these treasures? I'm so impressed!

You are good at being « bad »! Congratulations

Whoo hoo, it's gorgeous!! Lucky you.

That was an incredible score, Bron!

What is it with me and blue sapphires? I cant buy jade for sh@@ but blue sapphires find me even when I’m not looking for them. The seller of the ring had a jade bracelet I was keen on and as I do I perused the other listings and spotted the ring. Because of my gem hoard I am extremely overweight in loose gems and have only a few $$$ for settings so I’m always looking for ring settings in my size (no cost to resize) with diamonds (cos I love bling) or other ideas 9C7D2011-AB86-4D94-9B82-E1A42AD9F344.jpeg709B5DA9-38A5-4A93-B615-68C921A24DF3.jpegso I can set some of the hoard.
those who have read some of my many postings know I have a pair of 9mm round blue sapphires. I have a lot of blue sapphires! The 9mm rounds are very close to a perfect pair. One is slightly superior with colour and cut while the other has some zoning and a weirder cut and it has a wee cutlet. I have agonized over splitting the pair. Keeping one, selling the other. I even have the MOST bling setting ready for use (this setting wasn’t $200, more like $2,000 but still a good price) but haven’t done anything.
maybe I should set the new cushion into the bling setting as it’s also 9mm and still set the white sapphire into the setting as planned and keep the 9mm pair as a pair.
such a ridiculous Dilemma to have but I feel a strong custodial responsible to do the “right thing” by the gems that fell like manna from heaven into my life.

I’d guess around 4 carats.

Love the setting with the baguettes. I would kill for it. Want to trade something??
