Hello all.

I am so thankful there are so many qualified folks willing to be of assistance. I am ready to make the plunge and have done a lot of research. But knowing now how much there is to consider, I still don''t feel qualified to make the purchase without some advice.

My fiance is petite and wears a 6 to 6.5 size. I''m thinking of buying in .75-.99 range because my understanding is that prices jump if you get to the 1 carat point, although I don''t mind doing so if I can find a good value.

I want my future wife to have an excellent stone and we are willing to sacrifice size for quality. Although having a 1 carat or slightly larger would be great!

From my research I think I want to get a round F,G maybe H, VS1 or Si1, with an excellent (ideal maybe) cut. Where I have the most difficulty is in understanding the facet percentages to determine if the diamond will reflect more white light or if it has more fire and scintillation. I prefer a diamond that has fire and sparkles a lot over one that reflects white light.

I don''t want to be lazy, but would any one mind making a few recomendations from GOG or Whiteflash or any other reputable online company. I''ve hit the B&M retailers and that appeared to be a waste of time. My fiance seems to like platinum, so I''m thinking of a budget of $5,0000 to $6,0000. 4k or 5k for the diamond, maybe 1k for the band. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks vary much for any recomendations and all of the knowledge you all have graciuosly shared.

You are looking for a FIC = firey ideal cut. look for crown angle >35.5

You can search by cut and look through the crown angles to weed out the bics and tics.

Just want to say a big thank you to :), Ellen and JulieN. I think I like the 890306 one the best, but I''m contiplating (probably like everyonr else) upping the budget.
