This is a ring my dad got me for my 17th birthday from the "estate" case in a jewelry store. How old could it really be? I got it 13 years ago. Its 3 cabachon emeralds and 2 diamonds.

Gorgeous!

It''s hard to tell the age from the picture. That style could be from any time in the past 200 years.

Does it have any markings inside?

Do the diamonds look like modern brilliant cuts or older cuts?

Very pretty. I love the smooth lines of the ring and the stones. Looks comfy to wear.

first off...great ring...and when was it made?My estimate. From the mid 1980s-early1990s.Why?There are two periods when this combination of cab cut emeralds, diamonds(which look modern and full cut to me in the photo)and yellow gold were popular. The late edwardian/early deco periods(1900-1930) but for mens rings, and this ring is modern ,not of that period. The mid 1980s brought back the popularity of cab cut colored gems and emeralds set in yellow gold were in huge demand for womans jewelry (think about 80s-90s telivision late night soaps like Dallas or Dynasty). Ive sold several rings that look like this in that time frame.

Cool, thanks Jewelerman!!!

glitterata & MC thanks for your kind words. I checked, its hallmarked "ASSIL". A quick google search tells me this is a jewelry store in NYC established in 1974. Makes sense since I grew up & this was purchased in New Jersey.
