We ordered a 0.5tcw pave band from Costco and it arrived today! My ering is 19k white gold (lab diamond centre stone, but this thread is more about the pave ring so I hope that’s ok!), and this pave band is platinum and the diamond colours were a bit different too, so wasn’t sure it would work. It was on same for a price I couldn’t resist, so I bought it anyway to see. What do you guys think?

Very nice! Looks lovely with your ering. more importantly, is it comfortable to you when the band is worn together and if separately. Is it enough bling for you separately? Will you always wear them together? Just a few questions for you to consider.

Personally, it looks fantastic together and you can wear your band separately When you don’t want to wear your ering.

Thanks! I am struggling a tiny bit with the comfort - the shank depth seems to be a bit much on the sides where it hits my fingers. I’m wondering if I can bring it to my jeweler to shave it down or something? Maybe these pics can help illustrate:

I was thinking 0.5tcw may be too small, but I’m pretty happy with the size of the diamonds. I was also thinking about a 1tcw one from Costco USA, but with the borders closed it’s just not happening anytime soon.

Looks gorgeous

I think it looks stunning with your ER!

Comfort is critical however. I cannot say if your jeweler will be able to shave it down making it more comfortable but it's worth a trip in to see him/her and see if it is possible. Don't alter it in any way if you think you want to return it but if you love it and just need a bit of metal shaved off to make it more comfy and your jeweler says it is easy to do you've got a winner on (haha get it) your hands.

Looks lovely and good finger coverage.

I think it looks great. I would check and see if your jeweler can help in that profile. You may also find with more wear you will not notice it at all.

I think it looks perfect with your ering!

It looks beautiful, I second wearing it for a little while before having it altered. It looks like it's similar width/height as your ering and you may get used to it very quickly.

Such a classic and beautiful set.

They look amazing together. That’s my fav look. Why not inquire at your jeweler for their opinion, but don’t have work done until you’ve worn it a bit longer, or in case you decide you need to return it.

Perfect match!!!

Actually another question popped up in discussions about my set - people suggested having a spacer in between the rings since the "donut" on the e-ring is hitting the wedding band, and I've been told the platinum will eat away at the donut (haha) over time.

Wondering how significant this issue will become over the years? It's easy enough to grab a thin spacer (I already have a gold-plated one on hand but I'd probably need to get a solid gold one), but I personally don't prefer the look.

In the meantime, if you don’t like the yellow gold with the platinum- have the yellow gold one rhodium plated. It will then be white gold and maybe you’ll like it better?

It's not really the color of the spacer (I have some white gold ones lying around but I can't find it immediately), just having the spacer there is a different aesthetic I find.

Got it. Try a “thinner” ring? So less mm wide. You’ll hardly see it but it’ll give the spacing you need.

I didn’t read previous posts but I like how the width and heights of the bands match each other.

its a beautiful set
looks really lovelly on your hand
maybe try the thinner spacer, it would be a shame if one ring damaged the other

I love this look. It's very classic. I think the spacer works fine & love the pop of colour, but maybe a skinny knife edge band in platinum might be less obtrusive for you?

I think it's the perfect set. Hopefully you'll get used to the way it feels on your hand. My ring wasn't comfortable when I started wearing it, but now I don't even notice it.

I like it with the spacer, but I think a thinner spacer would make the proportions with your diamond band look nicer.

I love this look! But, I will caution you, I had an 11 stone band made to wear with my solitaire and it did the same that this ring does. It was slightly deepr at the ends of the diamonds before tapering. I could not get used to how it felt. It made the adjacent fingers red and a bit sore by the end of the day. I returned it and replaced with an eternity low profile band. I was hesitant to do the eternity bc of my experience with the other ring, but this new ring is very comfortable and much lower profile. I’d encourage you to try on other bands to be certain you can live with this particular one. A diamond band with a solitaire is a timeless look!

I ordered a 0.8mm thin hammered silver ring off Etsy today to see what if would look like, will update this thread when I get it.

If that doesn't work out, perhaps I have to think about returning this and getting a white gold band (and pay more in the process), or accept the wearing away between the white gold and platinum.

I got a .08 mm spacer and I’m glad I did. I have an 18 kt yg ring with platinum prongs and my eternity band is scratching the heck out of the prongs (6prong). I absolutely love your setting!
