Cost to remake grandmother's ring?

Hi all - long time lurker, first time poster :)

I have inherited my grandmother's engagement ring. It's an 18k WG with a fairly modest .5ct solitaire diamond. I like the stone but the ring itself is pretty well-worn, one of the prongs is damaged and it really can't be worn as is.

My partner's mother has also given me a WG ring which includes a pair of small baguette diamonds.

We are hoping to combine elements of the two rings to create a new piece similar to this:

Given that we already have two rings' worth of white gold, the centre stone and the side baguettes, is there any way of gauging how much it might cost to have something like this made? Of course, all this is assuming we would just be paying for the labour and the pave stones.

Or is this one of those 'how long is a piece of string' propositions?

I LOVE that setting you posted. What a great inspiration piece! The cost could range greatly depending on a lot of factors - how the ring is fabricated, metal, cast vs. handforged, etc. A vendor probably won't reuse the gold, but may give you a break on trade in of the material (at least that's been my experience). Do you have a vendor in mind or are you looking for recommendations? It's sometimes easier to start with your budget and figure out who the best is for a project within your price point.

This would be an ideal job for Scott Schreiber, and he will use your gold if you request it. I'm not sure how to contact him via email, but I know he's on FB and I just did a search for him and his name came straight up. He's a very good jeweler and his pieces are gorgeous.

engagement rings direct's CAD bench would be a good person to remake this. It's a lovely design. Great choice.

Thank ou so much for your responses!

It seems like CAD would be he most reasonably priced option for us, especially considering its a highly symmetrical setting.

We're going o go to some local jewellers to see what they say. Getting very excited about this project!

Another question - what do ppl think about adding a second halo, Soleste style, around the hexagon? Overkill or could it look good?

Total overkill. Please no!

Hahaha! Ok, thank you for talking me down - I'm getting carried away I think. You're right, a second halo would cancel out the deco elegance of the design.
