Copying yssie!

I bought these little beauties from Old World diamonds. They are OEC 0.16 & 0.18 stones. These will be earrings. Bezel or prong set?

What you choose depends on what you want to see, I think.

3-prongs would show off the stones, but they wouldn''t add any size
4-prongs would make the stones look square
6/8-prongs would hide quite a bit of the stones, and since they''re prongs I imagine they''d have to be thicker than a bezel outline (no milgrain will also add apparent metal thickness) so I reckon they''d look like "thick bezels" from far off


I vote milgrain baby bezels - I think they''d show off your beauties perfectly! Like drops of sparkle on the ears, and the milgrain will soften the look while the bezel adds just a wee bit of size.

Now that this lovely mounting exists, a lot of us are going to be picking up additional pairs of loose stones. Gotta'' have them too! I think so far BGD and Quest makes their own versions. Someone please correct me if I''m wrong.

I got a quote from DanielM for the 8 prong and now I''m asking him about bezels. I''ll let you know what I decide.

I love the 8 prong but am afraid it would overwhelm the tiny stones.....

That photo that I posted was the first pair of bezelled studs that showed up on PS. That pair was made by Quest Jewelers. Then Brian & Lesley''s company made a pair for one of our PSers. Their''s is pictured below.
