comparison of 2 stones

I'm a newbie and trying to understand this. These two stones seem to have similar specs, yet one 3 times as much as the other. I feel somewhat embarrassed to ask this...but figured why not.

First, you cannot compare an EGL graded stone with a GIA graded stone because EGL is not known for reliable grading. That EGL stone could be anywhere from F to H color and SI2 clarity. That is the reason for the price difference. Plus, one stone is just under 2 cts. and there is a price jump at the 2 ct. mark. I do not look at EGL stones at all because you are more likely to overpay for what you are actually getting. So stick with GIA or AGS labs and Excellent or Ideal cut only.
