Hi guys, I’m probably splitting hairs here as the two diamonds seem very similar. Same carat, color grade, similar price range. Which one is going to have better scintillation and light performance?

diamond 1: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4443712.htm

diamond 2: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4405742.htm

This will be an engagement ring set in six prong solitaire. I noticed diamond 1 has a smaller table but I don’t know how differences in table%, angle% will influence light performance. Definitely appreciate some expert opinions !

The VS2 stone says it’s been sold. I think that the SI1 stone looks really good. I like the small table and it looks very clean for an SI1.

It’s been bought by my partner, but then this SI stone came to market. I’m sure I can switch if the SI stone is the better one, since the ring production hasn’t started yet. I’m very conflicted on which one is better. Thank you for your feedback

They are both beautiful stones! If it were me choosing, I’d pick the SI1. Can you have them send you pictures and video of them side by side?

Ah, I see. In that case, I’d ask for side-by-side pictures of the two stones, as Bonfire suggested. I’d go with the whiter stone if one has an edge over the other. After that, it would depends on the price difference to me. Both will be beautiful stones!

It's weird that the SI1 is graded that considering how clean it shows on the certification. I wonder if theres alot of surface graining or otherwise

I sent Michelle from WF those questions hopefully she will get back to me next week. The price difference is only
$200-300, very negligible.

I personally much prefer the SI1. Love the smaller table and I also like the measurement numbers better too. Both will be great stones, but I would still do what others have suggested and ask Whiteflash to do a side by side video for you, so that way you can decide with your eyes which one speaks to you!

Good luck!

Many people are saying they prefer the smaller table. I’m very new. Can someone tell me why? Is it because smaller table gives more fire than brightness? Given this is an I colored diamond, should I want more brightness instead so it will appear whiter?

With ACA’s you have no worries, both will be beautiful stones. Colour preference in a stone is a personal choice, it depends on what you (or your partner) are happy with.
My preference for a smaller table is for me a desired visual requirement, and in some cases can lead to a tad more fire, assuming all the specs are complimentary.

Hope this helps.

The videos are up for the SI1! Both are on hold for me but I have to make a decision by tomorrow. The price difference is actually only $150 so basically the same. I don’t understand the SI1 grading either. Am I missing some cloudiness or surface graining here?

The SI1 does look very clean. I would ask your SA if there is any issues with clouds or surface graining, for your peace of mind. Also ask if they know why the SI1 designation.

I’m not seeing any surface graining. The feathers are the clarity defining inclusions. I would ask your SA if they are a problem structurally with the SI1 grade. I wouldn’t think so or it wouldn’t have met the ACA criteria. I still prefer the optics of that stone over the VS2.

Hi guys! The comparison video is out. Michelle said the SI1 is the slightly higher of the colours. Still unknown why it’s graded SI1. Let me know your thoughts and I will decide by tonight! Thank you so much

My eyes are drawn to the SI1. What do you think?

The SI1!!!

They look so much the same in the video! I'd choose the VS2 over SI1 in stones that are almost identical at practically the same price. I've had a LOT of different WF stones, and I can promise you that you won't see a difference in fire. These stones are all cut within a narrow set of parameters and overall will have great light return and fire! So really, the VS2 has an advantage of being worth more due to higher clarity. I'd go for higher color if I thought they were that different. But these stones are matched well enough for studs!

They are both beautiful stones. I’m going with the SI1 because I can see in the video that it’s slightly higher in color rating than the other one (confirmed by Michelle). Thank you guys so much for your feedbacks
