Overjoyed to finally be posting pictures of a ring that's been twelve years in the making! We bought this 1.93 carat congo tourmaline from Dan Stair in 2007, and life got in the way of having it set. It's the first gemstone we ever purchased, and my husband wanted to have it set for our 25 year anniversary ❤ After months of searching, I finally found the perfect 18k setting at the Tucson Gem Show, from a great little shop called Paironi Jewelers. This gemstone seems a little hard to find now, glad we bought when we did! 20200221_211053.jpg 20200221_091720.jpg 20200221_092849.jpg 20200221_091712.jpg

I am so glad that you finally got that beauty set into a ring. Life is like that. Our fun projects often need to be shelved for a while. I am experiencing the same thing myself at the moment. Thank you for sharing your beauty with us :)

Had my sapphire reset in a custom setting. It's so much better.

Decided to pile on the rings like @T L does. 1 ruby and 2 spinels on my left hand, and a blue sapphire and paraibas on my right hand. The left hand image had the color settings adjusted to better match the color I see IRL in the red gems.

Wowee:P2:kiss2:

The colours, the interesting settings, the fact that one of them is a cabochon. Thanks so much for sharing. You’ve brightened the Saturday morning of a woman with too much to do. Looking at the beauty shared on Pricescope is a bit of precious ‘me time’. Have a beautiful day:)

My Xmas present for myself! : ) Brazilian Paraiba and Mahenge Spinel. Love these colors together with the yellow gold. One trick was to ask my jeweler to cutout the sides of the bezel to let light under the stone, makes them glow more.

Sorry for asking a question about something posted a while ago, but wondered how big each stone is? You've inspired me to thing about this style of ring but can't tell how big the stones should be.
Thanks!

Since I’ve finally stopped lurking and am now posting, I shall play. My engagement ring has two sapphires, and one of my right hand rings is a blue diamond. I am in love with this blue diamond, and my heart still stops whenever I look at her. I still cannot believe my husband remembered that I mentioned that I saw a woman wearing a blue diamond that I loved back in 2014, and that he looked for the perfect stone until he finally found it in 2018. Great ring! I really like cabochons! I have a 4.5 ct. natural no heat medium blue sapphire cabochon ring. I love how the focus is on the stone. When I see these rings I think sophistication and polish. Not just for men, I love this look on women too.

I finally completed a little project ring I have had sitting around for a couple of years. The Pink Amethyst is 4.45ct and 9.55mm octagonal and cut by Jeff Davies set in a "ring pop" solitaire of 10K WGbwith white sapphire. It was meant to be a fun RHR. (pardon the cat hair- it never goes away...)

My engagement ring is platinum with a 0.8 carat blue sapphire, no idea about treatment, and 2 diamond side stones 0.54 carat F/G VS. UK size G or US 3.5.

My husband bought it from The London Victorian Ring Co in Hatton Garden. I didn't know much about sapphires back then - just asked for a blue sapphire. My husband knew/knows nothing about jewellery, so he didn't do too badly.

If I were to do it again I would have picked a lighter blue stone. Mine looks navy in shade and black indoors. But it's the sentiment behind it that matters. If I want bling to match my expectations I'll buy it myself.

My wedding ring is from another shop in Hatton Garden. Platinum with diamonds. Size G. No idea about diamond size or quality.

Jewellers in the UK don't seem to really focus on treated/untreated or stats. And engagement ring stones are more modest in size.

I've worn my set for 10 years and they take a lot of harsh treatment. I don't take them off to do gardening or cleaning. I'm clumsy and I knock them on things. The sapphire facets are a little worn, but only if you look really closely.

First 2 photos in sun, 3rd in shade.

They are lovely. Blue sapphire teamed with colourless diamonds is my favourite combination.:kiss2:

This is a gorgeous set! I love the pears on the side and how they taper down....and the band sits so nicely against the ring. Great set in my opinion!

I just received my new 3.5ct purple spinel ring. Set in RG with metal milgrain halo and small diamonds on the side. Surprisingly, the colour of the stone and RG goes well together. Stone and customised setting by Instagram seller thegemcollector 8-)
