Hello everyone! The YAG from Precision Gems has arrived and holy cow is it amazing! It is NEON! Here are a few pictures throughout my apartment with different lighting in every room! It’s also overcast today so no bright natural light. Also included is a family picture of my lab stones:

Gorgeous YAG @Hivona ! I was disappointed that someone beat me to it (but glad it was a PSer!).

I managed to grab the lab emerald and it arrived today and it is AMAZING. Perfect color and fantastic cut. As soon as I opened the package, I was blown away. But I admittedly have mixed feelings...because it is so perfect and sparkly, it doesn't look like an emerald to me

Drooling over here!
That YAG is crazy gorgeous and the cutting is freaking perfect. I’m so happy you got it...and maybe a little jealous. :mrgreen2:

Right now, I am leaning towards keeping it because it is amazing. But if I sell, I'll post here and tag you. Here are two quick indoor pics showing it next to my "real" emerald.

I can definitely see what you're saying about it looking different. But for me, that difference is why I prefer the lab emerald! It has more of a blue tint, which is my personal favorite part!

The color is actually very close with the lab having only tinge more blue. Size aside, the big difference is the sparkle/brilliance (which the pictures don't show) of the lab emerald. My guess is that most emeralds are too included to withstand all the facets (but I don't know anything about cutting stones so could be talking nonsense).

Thanks! It is beautiful :)

Very few stones, even in 10x8 sizes, are any deeper than 6 mm.
As far as I know, he's going to start working on it now.
Excited to see it!

Gorgeous! I love seeing how it compares to a natural emerald. There is a perfection in the lab emeralds that you don’t often see in real life. But they sure are gorgeous! :mrgreen2: What do you think of the color compared to your natural emerald?

Yep. I had requirements for a shallow, but "non-boring" stone and we went through numerous options before we settled on a cut. He did a test cut in a synthetic spinel today and posted it on his facebook page. It looks really good.
This is the cut we settled on.

CS newbie here (natural or otherwise, lol). Asking anyone who cares to chime in, do you think any hot pinkish red lab spinels / sapphires can come close to the color of a jedi spinel?

I came across this jedi spinel on IG. Both the color and the price are eye-watering, lol.

Thanks!

That particular piece is around 1ct, and the asking price is $8000.

I’ve encountered the same kinds of prices for those Jedi spinels...which is why I don’t have one. :cry2: I haven’t seen any lab material that recreates the look but I’d definitely be interested in seeing if anyone else has.
