Cocktail party for a ruby

In an outstanding example of targeted marketing, I have just been invited to a cocktail party and viewing of the Jubilee Ruby, to be sold at Christie's on April 20. They have even created a cocktail in honor of the ring.

The ruby is a little pink for my tastes but I wouldn't turn it down. 15.04 carats, setting by Verdura.

Free booze and rubies? You couldn't keep me away. Christie's in Rockefeller Center has a nice free coffee bar for every-day visitors, b.t.w., and they are usually very nice about letting one try things on.
