close to buying a diamond, but so confused. help please!!

hi all!

I am very close to purchasing a stone, but I am very confused. The diamond rates a 1.9 HCA, which from what I read and researched, this is good. However, I am concern about the feather and cloud on the table. Do you think this will be an issue since it is on the table?

Are the ratios okay? I read the table should ideally be 55-57%. Please help, I am so confused.

That's because most people on these boards prefer Tolk style MRB to 60/60 style MRB.

60/60 will favor white light over colored and fire. And generally, like the one you have, they are spreadier. It's just a different style of stone.

I personally prefer my 60/60 stones to have a pavilion angle of 40.6-40.8, not 41 like that one, but it is within acceptable range (41.2 is the line for a 60/60) for good performance.

60/60 stones are also discounted by the trade. So if you are looking to maximize budget they can be a great way to save money and eek out more size, as long as you stay within the parameters for acceptable performance.

Ask JA if they can get you an idealscope image of that. Personally, I would not buy a stone with a 41 degree pavilion angle without an IS. But that may be a risk you are willing to take. It's very good for a large budget stone. It's a 60'/60 style with TINY bit of leakage, nothing that is going to be visually material. And considering 60/60's are discounted by the trade and it's just under 2 carats with 8mm spread, I'd say it's a great find and a fantastic value.

I'd buy it.
