I added hydrogen peroxide to my Dawn & hot water solution soak this am. and was very happy to see that my rings look as though they've been professionally cleaned, and the gold looks as though it has been polished.
Does everyone know about this and I'm just slow? LOL
or is this a bad thing to do [I'm looking at my antique wedding band which now looks as though it's been buffed to a like new finish].

What does hydrogen peroxide do to alloys, if anything?

I'd be concerned about that too.
I hear the 3% HP we all buy in the store is actually a mild bleach.
That's why it is in tooth-whitening products.

I use isopropyl alcohol, 70% or 90%, and a toothbrush.
Then I immediately blow away the contaminated alcohol with canned air.

Drying with a towel would leave some of the dirty liquid.
Contaminated cleaning fluid should not be left to evaporate because only the liquid evaporates.
The dirt/oil that was in the liquid is left behind on the diamond. :knockout:
