and so?, what have you done.....update please.....

I have to say, a dear colleague has a G stone- it is blinding white, you cannot ignore it! the most noticeable ring at the table.
I have a friend as well whom I think has an F/G e-ring. I never asked, but it is the whitest most blinding diamond I have ever seen! I don''t think the cut is ideal, but the color is to die for! In large part, her ring is what set me to thinking about a change.

And to everyone who wants to know what is up...

Well, we sort of figured since you wouldn''t answer the question. . . WHEN DOES IT ARRIVE???

I''m excited for you - I hope you''re gonna love it!!

Is it a nice big diamond? That would indeed be blinding...

I''m guessing a bit over 2 carats, but one doesn''t ask, does one?.. HA, no kidding, the color is a shocker...

Congrats girl, I knew you would go for it. Can''t wait to see the pictures...

Of course mine is a different shape. My pear is a certified G, but in truth it''s just a smidge over an F. It''s a very high graded G.

This is what your new diamond will look like, closer to an F.

Yay!! Are you going to re-set the new one? Maybe a more substantial setting will make it look even bigger! I think we are about the same ring size (6) and I find that thinner settings just get lost on me. When I set my original .98 ct diamond into a 6 prong with sidestones, it looked much bigger on my hand than before.

Gardengloves It will be years for me too, this is it for a long while I think.

MGR Thanks! I am eager too.

Gemgirl Simply stunning! I love pears. I''d love to see how it glows in bright light, I find the G/Fs I have seen have that quality, it is part of the appeal to me. You keep alluding to a prejoect you are working on, what is it? An RB?

Laila I will reset this diamond some time this year, or basically when I have saved my pennies for the setting I want. But I have *no clue* about what I want to do
39.gif
I am all over the place. I keep thinking bezel because it is modern, protects the diamond, and makes it look bigger. I''m going to tiffs to try their Bezet setting on Friday so hopefully that will help me out!

I will be setting a RB (with B&L''s help) into a ring in the Spring. That''s my next project, but right now, they''re adding to a diamond bow necklace that my husband bought me years ago. I bought a pretty "blueberry" violet/blue spinel pear that they''re halo-ing for me. The halo-ed pear will then dangle freely from under the diamond bow.

This is the thread from the CS forum for the project we''re working on now-

Then come Spring, I''ll be into a different kind of trouble!

What specs RB are you looking to get?

Woohoo! Another Dreamer project! So excited.

One thing you COULD do.... is have Brian make you a cross between the Sholdt and Ritani semi-bezels. (Face-up look of the Sholdt, side view of the Ritani). I''m just sayin.'' And then let me copy it!

I like the open basket of the Ritani because you can clean the stone easier and I want to see the side of my new *white* diamond. But I like the shank and the bezel on the sholdt.

To make a long story short, I was supposed to inherit my mother''s e-ring, but she somehow lost it in her own house, but I suspect my sister has it. Anyway....... I was disappointed but my husband and I searched for a ring in estate counters of jewelry stores til we found something of the same era that my parents got married. We came across a ring for a ridiculous silly price and said why not. I''m sending the stone to be certified because I really don''t know what I have, but when I louped it, it looked very nice to me (unless they hid a pink elephant under a prong). My mom''s ring was a carat, and this stone has to be between 1.30 - 1.35 just from the diameter, but when I get the stone and cert back, I''ll know for sure.

I am buying a .60 - .65 pointer from Brian & Lesley after that for a pendant, either an H VS2 or a G SI1. The one I wanted was swiped from their inventory as soon as the list went up, but that''s OK because I''d rather have the ring done first. And I don''t have a lot of disposable income, LOL, especially not after the year we''ve had. I''ve been selling some of my old unworn jewelry on eBay and turning it into things I do want

So today, I worked on a high level donor event at a super ritzy NYC hotel for the " ladies who lunch" set. I work in event management. And well, I thought, this will be fun-, we can go ring to ring, mano a mano, me humble staffer-- as I check them in and escort them to their table.

Let me just say, the carat size I encountered during this one hour period of time was off the charts, I cannot even calculate the enormity of the scale and scope of the rocks that landed like boulders, before me, emeralds, pears, you name it, the sheer size obscured all vision. It was a blur. Massive canary stones, emeralds that took up the entire length of the finger., So what''s my point, dunno really, I raised an eyebrow or two.... we gotta be happy where we are-- but I am still feeling pretty satisfied with my upgrade that I worked and saved with the help of the darling boy for.

Can''t wait to see your blindingly white G. I''m so jealous! I don''t think I''ll ever be able to buy a G colored stone again. Fortunately I still have my 1 carat F (although it''s a radiant), to look at when my RB seems too tinted.

Is the stone coming to you loose or did you send in your ering and have them switch out the stones? I''m just curious about how this was done -- and of course I can''t wait to see your photos of your lovely new stone!!

Well I think that they both seem like great projects! I hope you get the next HVS2 in your size when they get new inventory in January.

Well, the GSI2 was not very much more $$ than my K... only about $1100 all told. Never say never

It is going right into my e-ring, which in in transit as we speak! Being in canada makes it a PITA to hav a stone shipped over and then returned, I always lose money on the transaction with the exchange rate etc. Plus I would have to pay taxes on the whole value of the ring not just the upgrade portion!

Anyways, BGD have been very accommodating to my circumstances and my hesitations and I am totally confident that everything will work out fine!
