Uh oh...I knew I shouldn't open this thread... Slinks away...

Seriously, after my photography disaster, I've never tried to take anymore pictures. I spent hours taking pictures of each stone and also in groups and none turned out well so I gave up. I did show another PSer who lives in the same town my collection and she in turn showed me her Dan Stair stuff too.

And yes, I had the wonderful privilege of meeting both Chrono AND her collection in person. Unfortunately, I did not realize until I went to download the photos just how bad they came out. LOL! I have since learned how to better use my digital camera.

The spinels are there. But the photos aren''t great. I apologize for my ineptitude.

I thought you had left PS forever. Well, as bad as you think your pictures might be, trust me, mine were much worse.

LOL...I''ve never see you this upset.

This spinel must be quite a stone!

It was just frustrating because I purposely picked a time when no one was home so I could do all sorts of photoshoots uninterrupted. I was also proud of the various setups and in some cases, contorted myself to get the right angle. It felt like everything was a waste.

I''m sorry to hear that, Chrono.

Please don''t give up. It''s not easy to photograph gems.

Chrono,
Does your camera have a macro setting? What kind of camera and model do you have?

Yes, I have the "flower" macro and it''s a kodak camera.

Oh how I''d love to see Chrono''s collection!! I''ll come and take photos for you
