I finally have my champagne diamond (procured from the lovely Kelpie a couple months back) set. She is about 1.42 carats of old mine cut wonkiness that I just adore to pieces and affectionately call "Ginger". Loose, this diamond was one of the least photogenic gems I had seen, but something just told me when I saw her listed for sale that she was really special and just needed the right opportunity to shine.

The inspiration for the setting was to resemble a flute of champagne (or ginger ale, hence the name), and Poppyseed & Amcor helped make that vision a reality, right down to the little "groupie bubbles" that fizzle toward the top on the sides. She is set in 14k unplated satin finished white gold. Picture still don't do her justice as she dazzles with a colorful sparkle show in just about any light.

I have a few smaller champagne diamonds that might be used to add a couple thin stacking bands, but for now, I am just so thrilled with how it turned out. Very fitting to wear to the local winery grape stomp this evening. :D

Here is the video of her loose, dazzling in the lights and probably best shows her sparkling personality. http://youtu.be/6ab8kAJR1mY

And pictures ...

Thank you so much everyone for the kind comments. It was fun watching it perform in different light settings today. We got rained out of the grape stomp, but my BFF and I found wine elsewhere, and Ginger was happy to dazzle. :D

Gorgeous!

Ginger is a delight. The profile shot- slays me! The semi-bezel is perfection. The setting is classy and fun and you have a beautiful ring!!! Cool choices. Congratulations!

It's BACK!! I am so excited for you. Just so you know, I am in love with this stone. Add the amazing setting that is so smart. Great idea and execution. When you have time...can you take it out in the sunlight and give a show in the setting? I love watching this stone in action. Congrats!!!

FABULOUS setting!! wow - the brushed/matte finish on the unplayed WG is genius!!!! And the champagne 'bubbles' - even MORE genius!! Those choices really made your diamond come alive in its new home. Enjoy that beauty!!

Here are a few outdoor glamour shots and videos of Ginger, now that the sun is out. We got rained out of the local vineyard grape stomp last night. :( Thank you again for all the love on her. I know champagnes aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love them in part because they are not the norm. :)

Both. I want to make a pair of simple stackers to go with it. I have the small champagne colored diamonds ... just haven't gotten around to that project yet.

Nice ring, thanks for sharing!
