Can't decide on Diamond Studs

I am taking forever to decide on my diamond studs. Originally I was just going to pair up another diamond - GIA cert HSi2 0.56ct. - this is still an option. Can always find another use for it - e.g. pendant. :naughty:

Today I went to a jeweller who stocks HOF and tried on a pair of 0.50ct - 1 carat in total - the size was quite good and of course, they looked bigger. My loose stone is an excellent cut and a very nice diamond but I am now thinking I would like to go up to about 1.40tcw.
The HOF were price at just over 7k  They were I/J colour and Vs/si clarity. I am sure ACA's are equally as good a cut and a lot less expensive. I have never purchased from Whiteflash so I can't compare.

I couldn't believe the HOF's were I/J's, I honestly would have thought G colour. :wavey:

hearts on fire aka wallets on fire for a reason hehe

Yes Proto, you are quite right

For comparison purposes, check out this pair, at about the same price as the HOFs. This will get you to the weight you wanted (1.44cttw), with equally well-cut stones, at the same price as the 1ct pair of HOFs!

Thank's for your input Rocky, they are beautiful diamonds but I have no intention of paying 7k plus - I was thinking more around 4 to 5.

Certainly understandable!

You could have this pair (1.42 cttw) in that price range:

They look nice - only one has a price listed though? Of course, I also have to factor in exchange rate and shipping. I have only ever purchased once before from the states. Don't know if it's worth leaving until we travel to Europe in a couple of months to see what I can find there. I just couldn't believe how expensive the HOF's were - are they really that far superior to any other diamond

Superior? Absolutely not! They are marketed widely through jewelry stores and the mark up is HIGH! They pay for lots of advertising, too! I have bought hearts and arrows stones from Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash. There is no difference other than price!

If you click the 'Reserve Diamond' button, the diamond will show up in your cart with the actual price.

Should be under $5k for the pair! You can even have Jon at GOG make a video of the pair together, so you can see how well-matched they are, before moving forward.

GOG has done a lot of shipping abroad, so I'm certain they can work with you on that issue, as well. Best of luck!

Thank's DS - your opinion means a lot. I remember a jeweller telling me once - it's just a brand. You know how it is, I really want that huge sparkle! I am not going to rush into it. Are you still happy with your studs?
