Cannot decide.. 3prong vs 8prong

So my pair of loose diamonds should be arriving sometime next week and I'm still undecided about the setting. I've seen SMTB on studs and I'm leaning towards 8 prong, I'm just unsure if it'll show too much metal because my tcw is rather small (0.44 each ear so 0.88 total). Help me? Has anyone second-guessed their stud settings?

8 prong is a lot of prong on a .44 ct diamond.
Can you link pics of the 8 prong studs you like?

Looks like most people vote for the 3 prongs on your size of studs.

If security is an issue, I've had my three prong for about 15 years with no issues.

Andelain - I love yours very much! That should give me a real-life perspective since we both have similar stud size.

Teobdl - I really like BGD 8-prong. I have got a quote from a local jeweller to replicate it.

I just had to come back and say that I kind of like the 8 prongs even on your size stones (didnt seem to be the majority vote though).
Now after seeing Andelain's again I definitely vote for the 8 prongs (as long as they are small and dont cover the stones)!

I vote 8 prongs. I like the roundness. Three looks asymmetrical to me. And four looks square. So 6 or 8.

As an aside I have just been through this. I tried on lots of different styles yesterday as I have just bought a pair of OECs from Love Affait Diamonds (1.86tcw) and have opted for bezels .
