Can you put a cushion shape in a ring setting for rounds?

I would like to have my cushion diamond reset but in order to afford a platinum setting that I like with the carat weight of sidestones that I want, I know I will need to try and purchase a used setting. I almost never see used settings for sale that previously held a cushion stone---most are for rounds or princess squares. My cushion is approximately 8 mm x 7.6 mm (length to width ratio is 1.06).

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to set my cushion into a round setting that has a four prongs and a round basket and was meant for a 2ct round? Please let me know. Thanks!

If they remake the mount. But, other than that, probably no. Different shaped stone.

Best advice: speak with the vendor you are buying the setting from and find out if they can change out the head for you- or help you to go custom.
