Hi Everyone,

Im looking to get a bezel set coloured stone ring made, since discovering pricescope cut is very important to me - I would like a bezel set ring like the legacy halos and would love a gem about 6-7mm or above in the colours of blue, purple or pink - any recommendations?

Ive been looking on ebay at gemburionline as they seem to be popular with PS members - can anyone suggest other places where i should look or suggest gems i could be interested in? The only shapes im not fond of for this project are pear, trilliant and marquise

Thanks for any suggestions!

For gems there are quite a few vendors I've worked with (as have many other PSers).

I highly recommend Barry Bridgestock, Peter Torraca, Gary Braun, and Dan Stair. I've also heard really good things about Gene Flanigan but have never bought from him.

I would go check out their websites and see what they have, and if they don't have what you're looking for, e-mail them and see what rough they can cut for you.

What is your budget for this ring? If it's on the higher end, I would look into sapphires for the pink or blue (Jeff White has cut some stunning blue sapphires (like Arjunajane's), and Richard Homer has lovely pink and blue sapphires as well, though he does mostly concave cuts, which may or may not be to your taste.

If your budget is lower, then I would look at tourmalines or spinels for pink and spinels for blue, and amethysts for purple.

Setting-wise, any of the known jewelers used by many PSers (BGD, WF, Leon Mege, etc.) can do a beautiful bezeled halo. I think Jewels by Erica Grace has a halo style up too and I know they've branched out into settings (and some are really stunning).

There are a bunch of legacy-style halos in the Colored Stone forum where the setting was bought from eBay (Lord of Gem Rings has been really popular). I have a couple cushion halo LOGR settings (one bezeled) and a pronged round one if you search my back posts (though the round I haven't created a thread for yet). These settings are pretty cheap even if you upgrade the gold and diamonds, but of course, the quality isn't up to WF or BGD or Leon's standards.

I hope this helps!

I do not know your budget but for settings, I’ve seen the Legacy style halo done by custom CAD/wax and also eBay vendor, LOGR. There are other styles of halos as well which are custom CAD/wax (Whiteflash, Brian Gavin Diamonds, not sure if Jewels by Erica Grace’s work is hand made or cast), hand made (Leon Mege, Hannah Maytal, Ocean Pearlman) and also eBay vendors.
